My name is Michael (Will) Wakefield, a recent graduate from Purdue University’s College of Health and Human
Sciences. During my time at Purdue, I majored in Movement and Sports Science- Pre-Physical Therapy,
focusing primarily on the topics of biomechanics and applied anatomy. I also earned a minor in Organizational,
Leadership and Supervision, where I took classes in sales and business ethics.
My work experience includes positions in both the medical field as well as outside sales. In sales, I worked as a
competitive sales representative for over 2 years selling knives via cold call. Reaching out to nearly 50 people
per day, collecting referrals from former satisfied customers and coordinating appointments with prospective
clients. In the medical field, I served as a physical therapy assistant and elderly caregiver for a combined 3
years. Through these experiences I learned extensive therapeutic terminology, became familiar with a wide
variety of prosthetic devices, and gained an understanding of the jargon of the hospital work environment
allowing me to communicate perfectly with hospital personnel and healthcare professionals.
With my degree intact as well as my variety of work experiences I hope to enter the intensely competitive
prosthetic sales market. With your company’s training and familiarity with the prosthetic and orthopedic industry
