Art-Arts and Sciences AA (003)
60 credits
This basic Art curriculum provides a foundation in studio art
and art history courses, as well as a full range of general
education courses. Approximately ½ of the degree credits
are in art/art history courses, and ½ of the credits are in
General Education courses.
This is a good degree to consider for students who want a
more “liberal arts” approach, and who are considering
transfer to a 4-year liberal arts college or university to
pursue a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree.

Studio Art AFA-Visual Arts (910)
60 credits
The AFA is a studio intensive course of study, with 2/3 of the
degree credits in art/art history courses, and 1/3 of the credits
in General Education courses. It provides a solid core of
studio art and art history classes, while requiring a breadth of
experience across a range of art disciplines.
This is a good degree for students who want to transfer to a
professional art school to pursue a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA)
degree

Art History-Arts and Sciences AA (059)
60 credits
The Art History AA is for students who are interested in studying
the historical and aesthetic aspects of art, rather than engaging in
the making of art. While there is some hands-on art making
experience, the majority of the art related course work studies
different periods of art history. Approximately ½ of the degree
credits are in Program Requirements and ½ of the credits are in
General Education courses.
This degree is for students planning to pursue a four-year degree
in art history, art research, or museum work.
