Buckingham Group Support
Buckingham Group Contracting
Limited had established a training
scheme for their staff. This was
developed across the rail, civil,
infrastructure and stadia divisions.
In late 2015 their aim was to
streamline the training offering and
set up a digital offering such that the
training programme could be more
visible, and hence more accessible,
to staff and their line managers.
Dave Lowiss invited CMNA to assist
in this exercise, which was
undertaken in the first quarter of
2016.
CMNA mapping
CMNA provided timely assistance to the project
with targeted mapping of the existing development
programmes. This initially focused on the training
and development needs against the individual job
grades across the company.
Subsequently, CMNA developed a training matrix
for the Buckingham Group. This matrix brought
together the learning outcomes for each of the
courses (some 120 in total) and provided an
anticipated duration for the course as well as an
anticipated provider.
CMNA mapped the training matrix to the
development requirements of the ICE, RICS and
CIOB - allowing the trainees and their line managers
to determine the benefits of the training for both
the business and staff development needs.
Client Feedback
Dave Lowiss (Buckingham Group Estimating and Technical Services Director)
indicates that he is very pleased with the work of CMNA both in terms of the
understanding of the industry and the mapping process. He comments below:
"CMNA have assisted Buckingham Group Contracting Ltd to speedily
consolidate the training programme into one training matrix. This can now
be used across the business and support the development of our staff."
"We hope to utilise the skills and expertise of CMNA in support of the
Buckingham Group staff development programme in the coming months"
The matrix will now be taken through a digitisation process and utilised to
facilitate a training and development conversation as part of the regular
performance review process.
