Mr. Blazey has more than 40 years of experience in design and sales of energy efficient HVAC systems,
and five years of experience in managing field of the energy efficiency industry. As a Regional Field
Manager, Michael works with contractors and customers on HVAC programs in southern California,
helping program participants navigate program process and find best-fit solutions for their unique needs.
He also manages field staff and administers processes to ensure successful program delivery.

Michael currently manages a field staff of technicians who provide onsite
verification and technical mentoring for program contractors. He reviews all
incoming onsite verification data for accuracy and performs random site
inspections on a random basis to verify installation quality.
Michael also supervises technician training that occurs monthly at the
Southern California Edison Energy Efficiency Center and conducts the
MPS portion of the training on a regular basis.
Other responsibilities include managing field staff and administering
policies, processes, and procedures, acting as the liaison between
participating contractors and customers, and communicating field activities
to program staff to aid planning and ensure field staff receive appropriate
resources and assistance. He also implement revisions to Southern
California Edison’s (SCE) HVAC Optimization program by meeting and
coordinating training for program contractors and field service technicians.

Michael met with various manufacturer representatives to establish a
working list of contractors who have participated in previous utility
programs and might be interested in a more focused HVAC program. He
met with contractors to inform them about the program and gauge interest.
He also interviewed potential field technicians and assisted in interviewing
candidates for the program’s account manager position. He also organized
and arranged for the first technician training and sales event.

Michael designed various heating and air conditioning systems for large
residential and light commercial projects using conventional equipment,
solar-fired equipment, natural gas absorption equipment and heat
reclamation. He also provided consultation service for the installation of
natural gas engine driven heat pumps in commercial building in downtown
Los Angeles.

Michael designed several installation projects, including multiple zoned installations for Nevada, Florida,
Georgia and Alabama sites. He also presented the Aisin heat pump features and benefits to the City of
Henderson working in conjunction with SouthWest Gas. He also met with building officials at Clark County
to discuss the installation requirements of the natural gas heat pump and addressed the area of emerging
technology and how the units operated. Michael’s other responsibilities included meeting with mechanical
engineers, architects, contractors and civil officials to demonstrate the energy efficiency of natural gas
fired heat pump variable refrigerant volume units.

Over 18 years, Michael had varying responsibilities that included working with the service department in
providing scheduling, trouble shooting and customer relations with high-end residential and light
commercial customers. He also provided onsite estimates for heating, air conditioning and ventilation
systems in residential and light commercial building. This included CAD drawing, spread sheet estimates,
material lists, pricing, and labor estimates for each opportunity.
Michael also supervised the installation mechanics as well as on site mentorship of the service
technicians when necessary and coordinated the company’s interaction with the Los Angeles Department
of Water & Power, Southern California Gas Company (SCG) and SCE incentives as well as emerging
technology installations with SCG.

Supporting the family business, Michael first worked as a service technician and installation technician
before stepping up to lead the company. His responsibilities began with working as a residential and light
commercial service and installation technician. As president, Michael remained active in fieldwork where
he provided onsite estimates for heating, air conditioning and ventilation systems in residential and light
commercial building.
This included complete heat calculations, Title 24 paper work, material and labor estimates for residential
projects – both new construction and existing. Michael also supervised the installation mechanics as well
as on site mentorship of the service technicians when necessary and coordinated the company’s
interaction with the Los Angeles Department of Water & Power, SCG and SCE incentives as well as
