What?
Good time management allows you to accomplish more in a shorter period of time, which leads to more free
time, which lets you take advantage of learning opportunities, lowers your stress, and helps you focus, which
leads to more career success.
Each benefit of time management improves another aspect of your life.

Why?
“Time management” is the process of organizing and planning how to divide your time between
specific activities.
Good time management enables you to work smarter – not harder – so that you get more done
in less time, even when time is tight and pressures are high.

The Focus 2 Career Assessment tests to match the best career field for you.
- It uses assessments based on your response to questions in certain categories
- Work Interests, Personality, Leisure Interests, Values, and Skills are the
categories and 5 assessments you take.
- You can view the results of each one, but then they are combined into one result.
Now why would we do this?
At first it seems pretty useless to a few because they believe they already know what
they want and what they like.
They don’t always know what they will actually be doing in there career field.
The Focus 2 assessment helps show you career fields that you may enjoy more or you
would fit in better with.
The answers you give are based off how you feel,
also how strongly you feel, about the activities
they describe.
So you may have to take the assessments more
than once to put how you actually feel about
doing the objectives provided. There is nothing
wrong about this either because people may
change how they feel.

What is a Career Fair?
- Career fairs are meant to give students and employers a chance to meet each other,
establish professional relationships , and to discuss potential job/internship
opportunities.

- To present themselves to potential future employers.
- It is a way to discover new opportunities.
- Good way to get feedback on resumes.

MISSION: Indiana state university career center mission is to prepare students / alumni to make
career-related decisions, to find related employment, and to meet workplace expectations.
Basically it’s preparing students / alumni to make very good career choices and to help them find very
good paying jobs. And also show them how to become good career adults. In show them how to
manage their career goals in a adult way.

to holistic development of student/ alumni through global collaboration with internal and external
partners.

1 .Improve office visibility
2.Increase the number of student served
3. Engage in employer development
4. Foster alumni relations
5. Improve and enhance services
Internships
Definition- An official program offered by an employer to potential employees
Types:
Paid/Unpaid- Internship where the intern either gets paid or doesn’t (unpaid is
usually due to strict labor laws)
Research- Internship where the intern examines a particular topic of a business for
school work

Why an internship?
● Provides real life experience and exposure through work
● Opportunity to learn more about the career
● Get connected and develop a professional network
● Possible transition into a full time position

1. Look online
2. Attend career fairs
3. Contact employers and inquire

Good time management allows you to accomplish more in a shorter period of time, which leads to more free time, which lets you take advantage of learning opportunities, lowers your stress, and helps you focus, which leads to more career success. Each benefit of time management improves another aspect of your life.
  • 3. Time Management Why? “Time management” is the process of organizing and planning how to divide your time between specific activities. Good time management enables you to work smarter – not harder – so that you get more done in less time, even when time is tight and pressures are high.

The Focus 2 Career Assessment tests to match the best career field for you. - It uses assessments based on your response to questions in certain categories - Work Interests, Personality, Leisure Interests, Values, and Skills are the categories and 5 assessments you take. - You can view the results of each one, but then they are combined into one result.
  • 6. Now why would we do this? At first it seems pretty useless to a few because they believe they already know what they want and what they like. They don’t always know what they will actually be doing in there career field. The Focus 2 assessment helps show you career fields that you may enjoy more or you would fit in better with.
  • 7. The answers you give are based off how you feel, also how strongly you feel, about the activities they describe. So you may have to take the assessments more than once to put how you actually feel about doing the objectives provided. There is nothing wrong about this either because people may change how they feel.
  • 8. Career Fair What is a Career Fair? - Career fairs are meant to give students and employers a chance to meet each other, establish professional relationships , and to discuss potential job/internship opportunities.

Career center MISSION: Indiana state university career center mission is to prepare students / alumni to make career-related decisions, to find related employment, and to meet workplace expectations. Basically it’s preparing students / alumni to make very good career choices and to help them find very good paying jobs. And also show them how to become good career adults. In show them how to manage their career goals in a adult way.

Internships Definition- An official program offered by an employer to potential employees Types: Paid/Unpaid- Internship where the intern either gets paid or doesn’t (unpaid is usually due to strict labor laws) Research- Internship where the intern examines a particular topic of a business for school work
  • 15. Internships Why an internship? ● Provides real life experience and exposure through work ● Opportunity to learn more about the career ● Get connected and develop a professional network ● Possible transition into a full time position
