Good Stuff Happens in 1:1 Meetings: Why you need them and how to do them well
Finding lost files
1. If you lose a Word file without saving, you can recover it. Open the most recent version in
Word and click on the “File” tab, and “Info,” then look in the middle of the screen and go to the
bottom of the middle section.
See where it says “Manage Versions” and to the right under “Versions” it may say something
like “Today at 3:25 AM (when I closed without saving)”
Click on that link and your missing file magically reappears.
Another tactic:
Open any Word file, click on the “File” tab, and “Recent,” then look at all the recently opened
Word files that appear. If the missing file is not in that list under “Recent Documents”, look all
the way on the bottom right side of the screen for a little link that says “Recover Unsaved
Documents” Click there and perhaps your missing file is hiding there.
