30TH ANNUAL SCOUTING FOR FOOD DRIVE
Provo, Utah— The 30th annual Scouting for Food Drive is scheduled for March 19, 2016. Scout troops
across the state will sweep the streets Saturday morning collecting food donations left outside resident’s front
doors. Donations made in Utah, Wasatch, and Summit counties go to Community Action Services and Food
Bank.
Community Action Services current needs are canned meats, boxed meals, canned fruits and wet goods
such as peanut butter. All donations must be placed in a bag outside your front door by 9:00 a.m. the day of the
drive. Donations can also be dropped off at the local facility located at 815 S. Freedom Blvd, Suite 100, in
Provo.
Scouting for Food is one of the most important food drives of the year. Dave Smith, Food Bank
Manager, says “This drive is critically important to the success of Community Action because it helps restock
our shelves and get us through the summer months. We are so grateful for the help in the past and we hope it
will be really successful.”
For every dollar donated, Community Action Services is able to purchase up to 15 pounds of food to
feed local families. Monetary donations can also be made by visiting our website:

Community Action Services is dedicated to fostering self-reliance in individuals, families, and the
community. In 2015, Community Action Services served 20,408 community members facing hunger and
financial hardships. Through the support of partner agencies and generous donations from community members,
they are able to continue offering these services.
