4. INTRODUCTION
 A herbarium is a collection of preserved plant
specimens and associated data used for scientific
study
 Specimens are usually-
• Collected in-situ, allowed to dry
• Mounted on sheets of paper
• Keeping major morphological features visible

5. SPECIMEN SELECTION AND
COLLECTION
Reason behind choosing Lemon for herbarium:
 Easy to be found in Bangladesh
 Popular for it’s fruit & leaf
 The leaves are suitable for being fixed to the paper
 Has many medicinal properties
.

6. PREPARATION METHOD
Data collection:
The specimen was collected from Chandpur
Bangladesh, on 17th March 2018.
Equipment used:
Scissors, gummed tape, spatula, needle, hard board, hard paper,
cellophane paper, weights, forceps.

 Rough sketch of the herbarium sheet and orientation of

 Gluing the specimen using spatula and angled needle
 Application of weights
 Not excessively heavy
 Surfaces of the weights are smooth
 Flip over test
 To confirm the stability of the specimen
 Wrapping with cellophane paper
 For better look
 Also ensuring better preservation

10. USES OF LEMON LEAF
 They can be used for their aromatics, which
are their singular non-decorative culinary
attribute
 The lemon leaves can be blanched
and used to infuse tea making
 Used as wrapping seafood or meat and
roasted, steamed or grilled.
 The lemon leaves can be used to treat nerve
disorders like insomnia, nervousness and
palpitation

11. CONCLUSION
This herbarium will help us in future. In toady’s
aspect there are many species getting extinct by
making herbarium we will be able to preserve them
and keep their data safe for a long time. Thus
keeping biodiversity protected.
