Personal info
I am keen on all sports and follow my local football club, Sunderland. I am keen on travelling
and reading and like to keep fit by running a couple of times a week. I enjoy eating out with
friends and meeting new people.

Pooling experience and knowledge I have garnered over the 15 year’s operating in the sports
events industry I consult with various sport agencies and international marathons. Current
projects include the adidas Grand Prix Diamond League Meeting in New York City, the Virgin
London Marathon, the Rock n Roll Marathon Series, Carlsbad 5000, New Balance Indoor
Games and the USATF National Indoor Championships. Each project requires a different skill
set from event production, to working with television affiliates.

Position Elite Athlete Manager / Director, Half Marathon Grand Prix
Responsible for Competitor Groups elite athlete program across the USA. During the five
years I was working in the USA the business grew grown from 7 events to 27 in 2013. As Elite
Athlete Manager I had to adapt to the budgets and strive to ensure each of the events were
are editorially relevant. I was responsible for organizing the 7 fastest female half marathons on
US soil and the top 2 men’s times. As well as negotiating with managers and agents to secure
athletes, I oversaw all travel and accommodation requirements at each event. I worked with a
sizeable budgets and was given the freedom to use it where I believed necessary. I have
worked closely with the world’s leading managers including Mark Wetmore, Federico Rosa,
Ricky Simms, Gianni Demadonna, Jos Hermans and Ray Flynn. I have the respect of my
colleagues and have always treated their athletes with respect and warmth. I believe over the
past 5 years the standard of races at the Competitor Group have increased and races became
must do for the world’s leading athletes.
During my time at CGI I was responsible for organizing the top nine fastest female half
marathons ever ran on US soil and seven of the top 10 male races. During my tenure of elite
athlete manager i helped 33 men and 37 women US athletes qualify for the 2012 Olympic
Trials.

Position Elite Athlete Director
Details: I joined Brendan Foster’s company in 2000 initially to work in the Sponsorship and Marketing
Department. My role over the next few years would be both diverse and challenging. I was
responsible for developing Nova’s presence in Ireland, working with existing sponsors,
securing media partners to ensure the growth of the event and oversee the transition to a live
broadcast on Ireland’s national network. I also worked across the business on Nova’s portfolio
of events developing relationships with sponsors and working to attract new partners. I
remained marketing manager for Nova International throughout the 8 years I was in their
employment. My primary roles were to ensure entries grew each year in Ireland. I worked on
the first 3 years of the Great Manchester Run which went from concept to 25,000 entries in 3
years, 15,000 year one. In addition I led the junior program of events including 3 years of live
television broadcast on the BBC and a single day event in schools which attracted more than
250,000 children in the first year.
In January 2004 I was invited to apply for the position of Elite Athlete’s Director across all of
Nova’s events. From 2004 I was been responsible for putting together both the male, female
and wheelchair elite races, of which there were 14 per annum:
Over the fours year’s I was recruiting athletes a total of 31 Olympic medals, 125 medals
from World Championships, 37 world records, 48 European championship medals and
20 Commonwealth medals had been achieved by the athletes who took part in races I
organised. Over 10km races 16 different national records were set, 8 national records over 10
miles and 3 all comers records in the UK and Ireland.

Position Marketing Assistant
Details: Working out of London I worked for various agencies on week to week contracts, projects
included working for Guinness to maximise their awareness around their Sponsorship of the
1999 World Cup Rugby tournament. I also worked for Strongbow Cider on a sampling project
they carried out in The Midlands.

Dates: October 1998- August 1999
Position: Recruitment Consultant
Details: Working for a small company based in Northampton, I was responsible for recruiting
temporary low skilled workers to work in factories and football stadia throughout the Midlands
and South of England. It was my responsibility not only to fill any positions on a day to day
basis but also actively market County Recruitment to new people and also look for local
business’s who would employ our staff as opposed to a competitors.
