OBJECTIVE- Seeking a position that will incorporate my leadership,
knowledge, and demonstrated abilities which will further the
companies goals.
BACKGROUND SUMMARY- Demonstrated strengths include
membership recruitment and management, new unit growth and
retention, fund-raising, program staff management, camp manager,
dedication for success, highly motivated, goal oriented, dependable,
and a successful self-starter.
SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS-
Fund-Raising- Increased development and performance
throughout my career, Increased popcorn sales in multiple years, and
doubled camp card sales in two years. Local district FOS campaigns all
have increased attendance and goals.
Membership Management- Established goals with staff to
ensure quality districts with membership growth, exceeding finance
goals, while developing quality program to increase retention.
Volunteer Relationships- Increased recruiting of unit leaders
by orienting and training them to be successful which resulted in
growth of Quality units and multiple years as Quality Districts,
Increased attendance at improved programs resulting in better
relationships with Council, Recruited top District positions to enhance
District operation.
Staff Leadership- Created a junior and adult staff program for
new summer camp which allowed full staffing with trained counselors,
As Camp Director operated a balanced budget while facilitating a
maintenance plan and safety protocol for safe operation, As Program
Director ensured that each program provided a safe and memorable age
appropriate experience, developed a Camp master Corps to protect
Scouts and manage camp.
2. Program Management-
Midland- Developed a new Webelos and Cub camping program to
provide resident and weekend camping experiences which improved
retention. This increase in programs resulted in growth in our Scouting
membership. Supervised the Scoutreach program with three staff and
achieved positive growth in membership and activities. Led the
paraprofessional to complete his college credits and precourse materials
to complete DOM and earn his commission as the Scoutreach Director.
Recruited local non-profits to work in a collaborative effort to provide
program for the over 300 Burmese youth relocating to Midland.
Recruited a translator to ensure materials are in Hakka to engage
parents.
Virginia- Operated a summer camp within an $800,000 budget with
over 3,000 campers per summer. Upgraded the food service standards
and equipment to provide a quality menu. Developed new innovative
programs to increase attendance and worked with multiple council
volunteers to promote at their roundtables to offer programs to new
scouting base. Supervised three districts to attain Quality Districts.
Florida Keys-Developed an outdoor program for the new urban units
which allowed Scouting a connection with at-risk youth, Summer
Camp Director 2005-2008 which operated within budget all years,
created new camping experiences resulting in increased revenue and
retention. Emphasis on community service allowed higher visibility
which provided new FOS donors.

3. PREVIOUS EMPLOYMENT FIRE INSTRUCTOR- BROWN
AND ROOT SERVICES, KOSOVO 2000-2001
Developed syllabus for Fire Academy, recruited and trained
over fifty Local Nationals while operating a fire station in a combat
zone as a Station Captain. Provided crash, fire, medical, and haz-mat
protection.
FIRE FIGHTER/ INSTRUCTOR- US ARMY 1995-1998
Trained over 300 soldiers in Fire Science, rescue techniques,
and fire suppression. Developed lesson plans, study guides, test
materials, and workbooks for courses in the D.O.D. Fire Protection
Academy.
FIRE FIGHTER/ STATION CAPTAIN, U.S. ARMY 1986-
1995
Provided base fire support while managing a crew of fifteen
soldiers and maintaining responsibility for over ten million dollars in
equipment and facilities, managed alarm room, maintenance, training,
and emergency readiness.
