This document summarizes video editing techniques learned, including trimming videos, muting sound, noticing details like facial expressions, using shot reverse shot and match on action shots, applying the 180 degree rule to maintain audience orientation, and creating a smooth continuity edit with dissolves while tracking a subject to keep the audience engaged with the story.

1. From this task we have learnt how to edit including trimming videos and muting
sound. This is all essential for smooth transitions and making it easy for the
viewer.
We also learned that the little things are noticed, for example someone fiddling
with their hands or different facial expressions on the shot reverse shot. In
addition to this we have also learned about the different shots. Shot reverse shot
is when you are at one shot, you go to another shot then you return back to the
same shot. We have used this in the conversation between Matt and Ingrid.
Match on action is another shot we learned is when you see something that
foreshadows what they are about to do. We did this when she walks through the
door.
Finally the last thing we learned was the 180 degree rule. This is when your
filming and you have an imaginary line and you can move either side but you
cannot cross it. We used this rule when Matt and Ingrid were talking so the
audience had a sense of direction.
We have successfully created a continuity edit by inserting dissolves to make the
story flow.
We also tracked Ingrid so the audience didn’t get lost.
