• Recruited to bring Base Metal expertise to existing precious metal desk with the ex-
panding Commodities division of Citigroup
• Contributed to growing the metals revenues from $10 million p.a. to over $40 million p.a.
• Ensured customer facing staff were competent in the specific products we were trading
as many were unfamiliar with common base metals deals
• Generated between $6 million and $12 million dollars annually from trading Base Metals
• Worked on three major software projects to transfer risk and deal entry systems between
software applications. All worked on time, and with no loss of data
• Liaised with Account Managers to ensure appropriate service to the client base. Reve-
nue from clients expanded many fold and Citi was a preferred partner to several multi-
national industrial groups
• Trained and mentored junior staff as they joined the desk. One was headhunted by a
major bank and another became a senior trader within our division
Fortis Bank, Director, Commodities 2004 to 2006
• Recruited as one of the initial staff working to bring Fortis into the Commodity trading
business to add value to their existing Commodity Finance arm
• Co-ordinated with the software provider to configure and install the trading, pricing, and
risk management software. Systems were in place and functioning according to parame-
ters within the set timescale
• Worked with project manager to set up downstream systems within the bank for the
metals desk
• Educated Middle and Back office staff on the specific details of the metals derivatives bu-
siness
• Successfully launched the Base Metals trading side of the business on time
• Built relationships with the bank’s existing customers to facilitate the moving of their deri-
vatives business to our desk
• Traded profitably within the limits framework established by senior management
