QUALITATIVE RESEARCH
Qualitative research produces information about opinions, views and preferences. It is very important
within the media industry as it is used to find out what individuals and groups think and feel about a
specific media product. The qualitative method explores the why and how of decision making, not
just what, where, when. Example smaller but focused samples are more often needed than large
samples.
Example of how qualitative research is found it is found by open questions in questionnaires an
example of an open question is ‘Why were you late for college???’

Quantitative research
Quantitative Research is research that deals with the amounts of things and that involves the
measurement of quantity or amount, applied to advertising audience research to develop actual numbers
of audience members in order to correctly measure market situations. It Produces data and information
that you can count and measure. Quantitative research Involves both primary and secondary methods
and results include ratings for games and TV figures. Quantitative Research is good because it give us
some good statistics but some statistics
can be fake.
Example of how quantitative research is found it is found by closed which is multiple choice questions
in questionnaires an example of anclosed question is ‘Was you late for college???-Yes Or No’
