Job Description
JOB TITLE: International Program Manager
Reports To: Director of International Affiliate Development

SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for the planning, management and oversight of meal packaging
activities held outside the US, as directed by the Director of International Affiliate Development.
The position will be responsible for developing the international meal packaging model in order to
improve program materials, logistical plans and methods, and communications. The position is
additionally responsible for promotion of the international meal packaging program of Stop
Hunger Now.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Worldwide program promotion to generate participation in meal packaging programs of
significant size through personal visits, presentations, direct mail, attending conferences
and speaking engagements, and ultimately by developing targeted strategies to approach
and generate interest by specific groups outside the US
• Plan and Facilitate International Meal Packaging Events
• Assist in selecting and training US Program Staff to facilitate International Meal Packaging
Events
• Development of new program materials for event hosts
• Develop working relationships with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and
ingredient/commodity vendors to improve the program’s infrastructure.
• Innovate solutions to key challenges involved in planning international meal packaging
events
• Liaise with internal marketing/communications for all international program or
promotional materials
• Identify potential stakeholders, ongoing supporters
• Work with Director of International Affiliate Development to develop relationships with
international organizations which will further the success of International Program
operations and grow expansion and/or non-expansion opportunities.
• Develop relationships with key organizations to ensure a presence at all appropriate
international humanitarian conventions/conferences (ex: Rotary International) Seeks
opportunities to create positive press for the program
• Identify key International conferences to attend and promote Stop Hunger Now
o Secure Stop Hunger Now presence either through meal packaging event, exhibit or
presentations
o Organize the schedule for overall International conference attendance
• Marketing and administration to grow non-expansion related meal packaging opportunities
2. • Primary contact for the management and oversight of all non-expansion related packaging
events. Facilitates the set-up of raw materials and equipment, and educates participants
about hunger. Trains volunteers on the meal production process to ensure cleanliness,
consistency, and professionalism. (All meal packaging events must adhere to local and
national guidelines for food processing.)
• Work closely with Director of International Affiliate Development to hand-off international
events to Affiliates when events take place in an Affiliate country.
• Research and Develop internal Stop Hunger Now international shipping and logistics
guidelines
• Work closely with Director of International Affiliate Development to identify and
transition potential expansion opportunities.
• Adhere to SHN Travel Policies
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None at this time. Supervisory responsibility over staff facilitating international meal packaging
events

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university or one to two years related experience
and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
Experience, education or knowledge related to hunger, international development and/or non-
profit management
Current passport
Strong presentation and public speaking skills
Ability to lift 50 lbs or occasionally up to 75 lbs.
Must be able to work flexible schedule including weekends and some evenings
Knowledge of Microsoft Office, database and internet software
Ability to track and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to work independently
Past International work or travel experience
Competency in a second language a plus
