MATHletes Introduction for Teachers (from a parent)

Re: Math activity suggestion
Dear Teacher's name,
I am the father of Child Name, who is in your class.
This year, Mathletes.ie, sponsored by Sean O'Sullivan (of Dragon's Den fame), is
organising the 2nd year of a unique Irish Maths competition, the MATHletes Challenge
(http://mathletes.ie), a free national maths competition for Irish primary and secondary
students. Students compete with their schools and/or as individuals online using the
website Khan Academy (www.khanacademy.org), a free, safe and secure online resource.
Khan Academy is a non-profit educational organisation sponsored by the likes of Bill
Gates, Tony Blair, and Sean O'Sullivan.
The points that students earn on Khan Academy mastering maths skills will help put the
school in the running for the School Challenge weekly leaderboards, Monthly Cups, and
the all-Ireland Championship title.
As, this year, the Mathletes competition is now open to Child Name's class, I would like to
suggest that you register Child Name's class to participate in this competition. This fun
competition will motivate kids to appreciate maths and hopefully help improve their overall
level.
I have included a flyer about this challenge. (available for dowload at

the links below:

If you have any concerns or questions, please don't hesitate to call Kelly Kirkpatrick, who
is organising the MATHletes competition in Ireland, at +353.21.470.0991 x2027 or myself
at Your Phone Number. You can also email schools@mathletes.ie
Thank you for your time and attention.
Sincerely,
Your Name
