2. Mental Health
Issues and Age
young adults are
more susceptible to
developing mental
health issues
(Kessler RC, et al.,
2007).
At least 75% of those
with mental health
disorders will have their
first symptoms by the
time they are 25 years
old.
About 3.2% of
undergraduates are
clinically significant
cases.
3. College Students
and Their Mental
Health Issues
• Living with strangers, learning independence, and
juggling domestic obligations and demands are just
a few of the obstacles that students face.
• It is normal for students to have mental health issues
while they acclimate to their new environment.
• Due to some complexities, mental issues arise, and
student’s social, and academic might be affected.
4. Mental Health
Programs in College
• Although teachers are recruited primarily to instruct,
they are increasingly seen as "first responders“.
• Everyone on campus, from coaches to academic
advisors, may keep an eye out for troubled individuals
(Abrams, 2020).
• Schools can develop a respected mental health
program at their campus by simply hiring some good
staff and training instructors some basics about how to
support their students.
5. Conclusion
Moving from high
schools to universities
can be very
complicated.
most of the students
face depression at one
point of their lives.
it is important to
understand the
importance of mental
health.
I would like to
recommend further
reading of the topic and
better understanding of
its significance.
