over 30 part time employees of the Child care department for the YMCA and
developed a preschool program for the facility.

 Management Consultant –Charlotte, N.C. Consultant to various health care
and human services organization. Projects including conducting area wage
studies; development and implementation of employee retention program;
cost benefit analysis; grant writing; strategic planning; conducting interviews,
and training & staff development.
1995 - 2000
 Director of Recreation Therapy & Eden Alternative- Beverly Healthcare,
Charlotte, N.C.
Coordinated Recreation and music therapy services for a 120 bed SNF and
short-term rehabilitation center. Supervised therapists, interns and
volunteers. Managed department budget and State grant funds, CQI,
program development and evaluation. Coordinated Eden Alternative
activities. Facilitated teams; provided training to team leaders and committee
chairs.
1993-1995
 Teacher & Recreation Therapist –
Alexander Children’s Center, Charlotte, N.C. – Member of a multi-
disciplinary team and taught curriculum which included social skills,
swimming, health, P.E., horticultural therapy, and art. Provided therapy for
children with behavioral and emotional difficulties. Responsible for
assessment, writing treatment plans, progress notes and discharge plans for
assigned caseload.
1989-1993
 Therapeutic Program Supervisor & Facility Manager; Winston-Salem, N.C. –
Supervised part and full time employees, and overseeing the implementation
of quality recreation programs for the disabled, senior adults, and homeless
population. Planned city wide events and programs. Managed daily
operations of 4000 square foot facility; budget; evaluations; grants writing
and advisory board meetings.
