Dec 2013/Mar 2015 : Team Leader Credit & Collections Shanks Nederland B.V.
1. Preparing the go live for the 17 different Dutch Shanks companies to 1 AR
administration (designing Credit Policy and KPI’s);
2. Simplified the profile structure in On Guard (Credit Management tool);
3. Trained the Credit Controllers and Collection Agents how to collect outstanding
overdue professionally and to analyze Credit Information.
4. Contributed to a successful implementation of a new cash application tool.
5. Optimized the handling of Collections in the day to day operations and the reporting
to the management of the 17 Shanks companies;
6. Introduced the working of a cash targets and succeeded with an excess of the first
one after the half year closing.
7. Decrease of external collections cost and simplified the enormous number of
external collection offices, by setting up a benchmark which resulted in added value.
Apr 2013/Nov 2013: Manager Corporate Collections Business Market KPN B.V.
1. Was relocated back to Amsterdam and managed the Corporate team in Amsterdam.
2. The decision was made to close Amsterdam as Collections office in June 2013 and the
Corporate operation was moved to Groningen. Two colleague managers and I were
given noticed as being redundant according to the reorganization.
Jan 2012/Mar 2013: Manager Operations Collections KPN Corporate Market B.V. and KPN
Business Market KPN B.V.
1. Nominated as Operational Credit Manager for the entire B2B portfolio of KPN and
managed 80 FTE indirectly and directly 5 managers working in the 2 Collections
departments being Groningen and Amsterdam.
2. The Collection team exceeded again the year-end cash target.
2. 2:
May 2010/Dec 2011: Manager Collections KPN Corporate Market B.V. ( until May 2010
formerly named Getronics Nederland ).
1. The two Collections departments of KPN and Getronics were integrated. The
Corporate clients, were collected by my team in Amsterdam (25 fte), the number of
Collectors was increased to 25.
2. Collectors had their own portfolio and they were responsible for achieving their own
cash target which was being measured daily.
3. I reported to the Director Collections, who reported to the KPN Board.
4. Situational leadership was applied for coaching and developing my direct reports.
5. Supported the Collectors with the most complex and large customer issues, like
billing, by visiting external customers and discussed the issues they were facing with
the delivery and billing from KPN.
Jul 2006 /Apr 2010: Manager Collections Getronics Nederland B.V./Manager Credit
Control (Getronics was taken over by KPN in October 2007).
1. In 2006 Getronics took over PinkRoccade and I contributed by carving the AR of 7
different PinkRoccade companies, built bridges due to quit a different landscape in
tooling, processes and culture.
2. KPN took over Getronics in October 2007 and I was asked, besides Collections to also
manage the Back-Office and the Invoice Solutions Department (35 fte).
3. In 2009 KPN asked the Getronics management to integrate the complete B2B
portfolio of KPN into the SAP administration of Getronics. My team and I faced
double figures; we went from €800 million outstanding, up to €1600 million euro.
4. Reporting: during the carve in of the complete B2B portfolio of KPN we found a
manner to build a family tree of all our customer data. This contributed to clear
insight of the total outstanding balance cash and the total credit limit exposure. Also I
have helped developing the summary report, seeing the main figures and KPI’s.
5. C0- chairman of the different conference calls with the Operational and Sales
management. Goals; to reduce DSO and disputed items.
Mar 1988 /Jun 2006: Various Credit Management functions within Getronics.
1. Managing the AR department of Getronics Nederland. Managed by example. Clients
passed on their compliments to our CEO, for my professional attitude.
2. While reporting to the CFO, in 1997 I received the Financial Management Award.
3. Represented the full AR organization with the transition to SAP as new ERP, after
Wang Nederland, Raet Nederland and Getronics Nederland were merged in 1999.
4. In SAP I have helped to implement a credit rating system (ratings and credit limits).
5. Helped in 2000 to implement On Guard as Credit Management tool.
6. Asked by the Finance Director, I acted as chairman of the project group
Financial/Juridical related to the implementation of the euro in 2002.
7. During this period I trained and recruited the Collections department team (15 fte).
8. Collectors managed their own debt portfolio. The most important KPI’s (DSO/Cash
Collected/Disputed items/Aging) were reported to the management.
9. The other 10 Getronics companies have been carved into Getronics Nederland during
2004/2005. At management request, I was asked to manage the entire Collections.
10. Completion of many projects, like the implementation of electronically payment
systems for our top management.

Jan 1987 /Feb 1988: Nationale Nederlanden, Credit Acceptant in consumer credit.
I have been trained in all kind of aspects regarding the B2C credit acceptance
(mortgages and personal loans) of an insurance company during the first 6 months.
Jun 1983 /Dec 1986: Dun & Bradstreet BV, Reporter, Senior Reporterand Deputy Office
Manager.
I learned how to interview companies and organizations and how to gain useful
credit information. Nominated as the best of the 40 Reporters of Dun & Bradstreet,
later on appointed as Senior Reporter and Deputy Office Manager of the Amsterdam
Office. Here I set my first steps in coaching and motivating teams.
Oct 1978 /May 1983: Rons B.V., Credit Controller.
I started my career as general assistant. Followed by the fact that the management
noticed that clients asked to be serviced by me personally, I was nominated for an
internal sales function. Later on, two Credit Controllers were dismissed and the CEO
asked me to take-up the challenge. The NMB Heller factoring company noticed that
since I was responsible for the billing and collection process, the volume of bad debts
decreased.
