Dear reader,
AIESEC is an Organization existing since more than 60 years. How can a
student driven organization live continuously for more than 60 years and
grow relentlessly till becoming the largest in the world?
This question has been always with me during my experience in the
Association without leading me to a unique answer, but probably I found
a solution to this question just at the end of my life in AIESEC, a surprising
solution. Indeed, the biggest strength of this Organization seems to be
exactly what at first sight externally seems its biggest weakness:
every year an AIESEC experience ends to leave space to another one.
Every year a young AIESECer from anywhere in the world finishes is
mandate so that another member after him will continue what have been
done.
Every year this Organization renews itself.
What is possible to do in one year, 12 months? Many things? Few things?
Obviously 12 months seem to be enough to build up something that will be
preserved in time and will become part, like the piece of an endless mosaic,
of the history of AIESEC.
The AIESEC Italy 2008/2009 described in this Annual Report represents
nothing else that one of these “pieces”, even if characterized by unique
happenings, emotions and feelings. Who lived personally the AIESEC Italy
2008/2009 had the chance to be part of a special experience thanks to:
the Ambition, demonstrated throughout the projects at international
level that made Italy a referring point within the global network of AIESEC;
throughout the new strategies that led towards an improvement of the
structure of the Association and especially of the culture of our members;
throughout the numerous collaborations with relevant Organizations and
the approach to prominent personalities of our country;
the Growth, realized within the 08/09 term, that marked memorable
results in the main functional areas (international exchanges, members,
leadership opportunities, external positioning, etc.);
the Criticality, of the term 2008/2009. A year which the main projects
and dreams of AIESEC Italy have been realized and which the Global
Financial Crisis got life.
But all this it’s just thanks to an entire generation of AIESECers that
believed in the concept of the “Road not Taken”:
“…Two roads diverged in a wood,
and I--I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.”
(Robert Frost)
A concept whereby if you really want to make the difference, you have to
chose the road that the others didn’t take, the most impervious, because
only in this way you can grow.
AIESEC Italy 2008/2009 chose to grow and that’s why it faced many
challenges that made its path very hard, but at the same time full of
satisfactions.

6. 6
Aiesec offers a youth-driven
significant experience to its
members.
AIESEC is an organization run
by youth for youth that enables
its members to live a strong
experience that might change them
on a personal level and drive a
positive impact on societies. Our
experience is comprised of a global
learning environment, leadership
opportunities and international
internships. Through those three
key aspects our members become
top talents when they leave the
organization. The structured
program offered to all members
of AIESEC in over 100 countries is
called “The AIESEC Experience”.
How we
develop
talents
In this program, all members go
through a formal introduction
to the organization to connect
them with the purpose, values and
impact of AIESEC.
Members then take on
responsibility virtual or physical,
in some area of operations and
activity. Further on, members have
Leadership opportunities
We offer our member the opportunity
to lead a team of minimum 3 people for
more than 3 months to reach a com-
mon objective. Positions in the local or
national Executive Board are covered
even for one year and are an intense
learning experience about leadership
and teamwork.
International Internships
Our members can go for an internship
in one of our member countries around
the world. The professional work ex-
perience and the experience in another
country and culture is one of the big-
gest opportunity for the development of
our members.
the option to take on a leadership
role, leave for an internship,
or both.
The final step of the AIESEC
Experience is to head for the
future - to wrap up the skills,
inspiration, and contacts gained
from AIESEC to have a positive
impact in society.
THE GLOBAL LEARNING
ENVIRONMENT
AIESEC has an incredible platform;
however, it is ultimately up to the
individual to take full advantage of the
opportunities offered.
Taking and active role
AIESEC provides young people with
the opportunity to increase theoreti-
cal knowledge and practical experience
in a wide-range of functional and soft
skills.
Increasing capacity
AIESEC provides young people with
the opportunity to create a strong and
global network to support them in their
personal and professional pursuits.
Building a network
AIESEC supports young people in clari-
fying and expanding their ambitions
through mentorship, personal vision
exercises and an inspiring environment.
Developing self awareness
and personal vision
AIESEC “shakes up” the way young
people see the world through intense
experiences such as conferences, work-
ing abroad, and engaging in diverse
environments.

KEY PRINCIPLES OF THE AIESEC EXPERIENCE:
7. 7
Joining AIESEC as a young student
in Finland in 1963, was immersed
in an international environment
that pre-empted his future as a
global peacemaker. With his role
in peaceful negotiations, Martti
Ahtisaari has embodied bold
leadership, forging international
co-operation in seemingly
intractable circumstances.
Reflecting on his early engagement
with AIESEC, Martti Ahtisaari
welcomes the world to work more
closely with young people in the
pursuit of peace.
Martti Ahtisaari
Nobel Peace Prize
and ex President
of Finland
“I support the
valuable activities of
AIESEC in Finland
and internationally.
Therefore I encourage
organizations and
companies to find out
more about AIESEC
and support the
work of these young
people”
At the end of their experience, the
members become officially AIESEC
Alumni.
Our Alumni, their competencies
and contribution to society is the
most tangible proof of the impact
that we have as an organization
and the kind of people that the
AIESEC Experience develops.
The network of the AIESEC alumni
is comprised of about 800.000
people globally. It means 58
generations of people, who know
AIESEC closely, who contributed
to the organization themselves
and are now change agents in the
corporate, institutional and non-
corporate sectors.
As an AIESEC alumnus, Martti
Ahtisaari joins the over 800,000
former members, including fellow
statesmen Cavaco Silva, Helmut
Kohl, Janez Drnovsek, Junichiro
Koizumi, Jan Eliasson and Gerry
Adams. Today AIESEC has grown
into a leading platform for young
people to truly discover their
leadership potential—and a real
training ground for the world’s
next influential leaders.
Today AIESEC alumni can stay in
touch with the organization and
among each other thanks to the
virtual platform
MyAIESEC.net that represents
an ad hoc alternative to the
famous current virtual networking
systems.
This platform enables all the
alumni to have an account which
allows them to receive relevant
news about AIESEC, to find people
in the network, to offer or look
for opportunities (events, jobs,
business, etc), to make on-line
donations in order to support
specific AIESEC entities and
initiatives.

AIESEC IN ITALY
MEMBER COMMITTEE
2008/2009
The Italian network of AIESEC
is led every year by a Member
Committee that has the role to
transmit the global direction of
the association and to support the
development of the local entities
through national strategies and
initiatives. The Member Committee
of AIESEC in Italy is located in
Milan and it is composed of full-
time and part-time members who
are still university students but
have the opportunity to live a
unique high-level professional and
cultural experience in the non-
profit sector.

This year the Member Committee
was formed by seven full-time
and four part-time members: the
National Support Team.
The full-time members were
responsible of strategically
managing the functional areas
(Exchange, External Relations,
Finance, Communication and Talent
Management) while the National
Support Team was composed
by three NST Development
and one NST Training. The
NST Development were mainly
dedicated to the coaching of the
Local Committees and to the
member education during national
congresses.
The NST Training was responsible
to structure an education strategy
for the members and to develop
trainers that could facilitate
knowledge in the local realities.

ITALIAN LEADERSHIP
BODY 2008/2009
AIESEC in Italy today is composed by
21 Local Committees which represent
the real soul of the Organization. All the
strategies promoted at international
level and the activities of the Member
Committee would be useless without
the commitment and the passion
of those people who are operatively
responsible of the performances of
our organization at local level and
especially of their leaders, the Local
Committee Presidents.

EXCHANGE AREA
From the 1st July 2008 to the
30th June 2009 (AIESEC 08/09
term) AIESEC in Italy realized in
the Exchange area the highest
performance since 2005, with a 53%
growth in exchanges realized and a
98% growth in exchanges raised.
This achievement is mainly
due to the outstanding work of
our local entities: In 2007/2008
AIESEC in Italy was counting 11
Local Committees that were not
achieving the minimum criteria of
4 exchanges in the term. Thanks
to the strong work, together of LC
and MC, in the term 2008/2009 we
lowered this negative number to 7
and we decreased the number of
Local Committees not performing
at all in exchange from 4 to 1.

year to the exchange program after
their leadership experience, 214%
more than the previous year.
CONFERENCES
AND EVENTS
The 2008/2009 term of AIESEC in
Italy will be remembered in the
future also for the high number
of internal and external events
organized by our country. In only
one year 15 AIESEC congresses
took place in Italy: 3 International,
7 National and 5 Regional.
These moments were not merely
internal AIESEC meetings but
represented also important
occasions to open AIESEC to the
external world.
Besides the AIESEC congresses
AIESEC in Italy organized this year
also almost 70 public events, 5 of
them at national level, involving
more than 50 Organizations, among
Multinationals, SMEs, Institutions,
NGOs and Media.

One of the main focus areas of
the Member Committee this year
was the Organizational Structure
and that means the development
of the local entities and of the
organizational culture in each
member of AIESEC in Italy.
STRATEGY
According to that, the Member
Committee 2008/2009 launched
a “Cluster Strategy” aimed to
divide the Local Committees in
different groups based on their
performances and potential, in
order to customize the support
taking into consideration the real
needs of each cluster.
An example of an ad hoc initiative
related to this strategy was the
organization of the “1st Cluster
Meeting” aimed to put together for
the first time the top performing
Italian Local Committees and
empower them in order to become
the growth centers of the entire
network.
PROJECTS
On the other hand the Member
Committee focused its attention at
local level providing support for
the realization of the local Projects
Working close
to the Local Committees
Based on eXchange (PBoX). The
main work consisted in support-
ing physically and virtually the
Local Committees, coaching and
providing education to the project
managers all over Italy to enable
them to manage their teams to
reach personal and professional
development in the achievement of
the PBOX goals.
Among all the projects of the year
we want to mention in particular:
the “Western Europe and Northern
America Leadership Development
Seminar” and “Western Europe
and Northern America Exchange
Meeting”, 2 international congress-
es, organized respectively by Cata-
nia and Torino, that gathered in
Italy more than 300 international
students in order to discuss about
issues internally and externally
relevant for the organization; the
project “BET – Believe in Ethio-
pia Together” realized by Perugia,
Roma Tre and Catania connected to
the national initiative “Expansion
in Ethiopia” about the development
of the African continent and Ethio-
pia; the project “Business Without

NATIONAL
TRAINING TEAM
This year AIESEC in Italy
developed a strategy aimed to
structure a pool of national
trainers in order to provide
education and facilitate the
activities in all the Italian Local
Committees. That’s why this year
a new role has been introduced,
the NST Training, which was
in charge of organizing and
running educational events for
potential trainers called “Train

the selected trainers. During the
2008/2009 term three TtTs took
place respectively in Pavia, Napoli
and Trieste and the first National

Italy was formed.
EXTENSION
After almost one year of enduring
efforts and showing passion and
commitment, in occasion of the 2nd
National Congress in May 2009,
AIESEC in Italy ratified the official
opening of the Local Committee of
AIESEC Bozen/Bolzano.
Thanks to the strong commitment
and pioneering ambition of
two students of the University
of Bozen/Bolzano, Andreas
Hauptenbuchner and Michael Bayr,
and the support of the Member
Committee, AIESEC started
to operate in Bozen/Bolzano
attracting students from all the
faculties and preparing them to
work on concrete activities. Since
October 2008, when Bozen/Bolzano
informally joined the Italian
plenary, the increasing group of
students successfully satisfied
all the requirements to become
formally part of the network of
AIESEC in Italy.
Today AIESEC can count on a new
local entity positioned in a strong
university and socio-economic
environment that will increase the
relevance of our organization in
the Italian territory.
13. 13
NATIONAL
External Events
One of the main benefits for
the organization that decides
to collaborate with AIESEC is
the possibility to participate to
our national and local events
and meet students coming
from different faculties of all
the most important Italian
Universities”.
Among the most important
national events:
PARTNER GROUP
MEETING
The first event of the year
organized by AIESEC Italy is

for a period of up to 12 month.
Today’s leading organizations
recognize that in a competitive
global environment talented people
will have a significant impact upon
results. The long term survival of
business is crucially dependent on
accessing talented young leaders
from across the globe that can join
an organization and create success
through the right combination of
skills, innovation and attitude.
AIESEC is an easy & cost effective
way to access to a global pool
of young talent. By join the
TDP Program, a company is
supporting the development of
young people who are striving to
develop themselves into socially
responsible, entrepreneurial,
cultural sensitive, active learners.
Consolidating
TDP in Italy
AIESEC in Italy started promoting
the TDP Program during the first
semester of the year 2004 and
during these years we offered and
finalized several partnerships
with national and multinational
companies.
Flexibility, listening carefully and
learning from every step we took
were key points for success. A very
important step was to improve the
quality of the services by putting
attention to small details.
Always sourcing and pre-
screening top international talent
with multiple languages and
experiences from all major fields
(marketing, finance, auditing,
consulting, HR, engineering,
computer science, etc).
Excellent coordination of
international movement.
Due to Italian immigration
regulations we still face many
challenges when bringing non –
European students and graduates.
On – the - ground support
network for logistical allocation
and cultural integration in Italy,
assisting with housing and
transportation, legal matters such
as permit of stay and fiscal code
and local area orientation.
Cultural learning and leadership
program for all the interns to
build a strong personal network
and open their minds to new
perspectives.
Re- integration into their home
country.
The results
AIESEC in Italy has grown very
much since the beginning of the
TDP, we have acquired expertise,
we have gained trust and respect
from our clients and especially
we left a strong platform
for the coming generations.
Our commitment to tailor
each partnership to meet the
organization’s strategic objectives
and sets up specific sourcing and
delivery models to the support

Through the Talent Development
Program Telecom Italia engaged a
positive relationship with AIESEC in
order to develop an international project
for long-term research which involved 6
young AIESEC interns from Japan, Korea
and Brazil.
Thanks to its efficient network all over
the world, AIESEC was able to
provide Telecom Italia with young
talents with academic backgrounds in
ICT and Business analysis as well as a
global international culture.
AIESEC selected short-lists of profiles
based on our organization needs and
offered to our chosen candidates a
complete logistical support, including
VISA applying and accommodation.
We confirm our positive collaboration
with AIESEC recommending this
international young organization for
those companies who want to start or

The Expo is the biggest
international exhibition that is
held every five years in a different
city of the world, aimed to discuss
and turn the attention of the planet
on issues of global relevance.
A global event of high educational
content targeted to the general
public, following an in-depth
survey on the means available in
order to satisfy the needs of the
contemporary society. Taking more
into consideration the human
activities the exhibition shows the
progresses achieved and future
perspectives.
In 2008 the city of Milan received
the mandate for the organization
of the 2015 edition thanks to the
relevance of the contents proposed
and to the potential in terms of
innovation and visibility that this
event can have in a location like
Milan.
The slogan chosen for the Expo
Milano 2015 is “Feeding the
planet. Energy for life”
and it encloses seven sub-themes
that will be developed in different
ways during the whole period
of realization of the Expo and
especially in the future. That’s
why the organizing committee of
the Expo 2015 decided also not to
have a structural symbol of EXPO,
but to make the EXPO the occasion
to create in Milan a network
for sustainable development
interacting with different entities
especially of the not-for-profit
sector.
The common vision, the close
commitment to the most relevant
global issues and the strong
belief in the future generations
made it possible for AIESEC in
Italy to easily get in contact with
Expo Milano 2015 for a concrete
collaboration.
In occasion of the Global Leaders’
Summit 2009 held in Rome in
February, the Mayor of Milan and
Extraordinary Commissioner of
the Expo Milano 2015, Ms. Letizia
Moratti, signed an agreement with
AIESEC in Italy in order to start
a long term cooperation based on
common activities and objectives.
This agreement is based on three
main objectives:
. The organization and
participation to the initiatives
organized by the two entities about
topics of common interest till 2015.
. The organization of an AIESEC
International Congress in 2015
during the period of realization of
the Expo.
. The realization of an International
Volunteer Exchange Program
managed by AIESEC
in Italy appositively for the Expo
Milano 2015.

THE PROJECT
One of the most impactful
initiatives of our organization
at international level is its
expansion in a new country. Today
AIESEC is present in all the most
developed countries but there are
still many states and territories
where AIESEC is not yet present,
especially because of their strong
economical, social and political
challenges.
Bringing AIESEC to a new territory
means that a “Partner Country”,
already present in the AIESEC
network, takes the responsibility
to drive the growth of the
organization in this new location
providing all the needed resources
to enable the start up of AIESEC.
Two years ago AIESEC in
Italy decided to promote the
expansion of AIESEC in Ethiopia,
contributing to the cultural and
professional development of young
Ethiopian students that thanks to
AIESEC now have the opportunity
to live unique experiences and
to improve their skills and
competences.

“I’ve been for 45 days
in Addis Ababa for the
project of expansion of
AIESEC in Ethiopia. My
mission was not merely to
transfer knowledge but to
make the AIESEC machine
run in Addis. I was part
of a multinational team
which I worked and lived
with everyday. Since the
beginning we focused
in creating a team and
in building up a plan to
run activities. I delivered
trainings about soft and
hard skills and in particular
I transferred to the
Ethiopian guys the AIESEC
culture and how AIESEC
runs its activities providing
opportunities to young
people. Thanks to the work
of my team we created the
right conditions to allow 4
Ethiopian students to live a
working experience in Italy.
From a professional point of
view I think this experience
enabled me to really put in
practice all that I learned
in and outside AIESEC,
leading me to understand
how many things I knew,
and how they could be
useful in such a different
context. I developed my

just their knowledge but also
their culture and sensibility

In the last two years we
supported AIESEC Italy to
develop the “Ethiopia Project”.
Thanks to this initiative KPMG
is actively contributing to
the development of a future

with this project now have the
opportunity to improve their

We strongly encourage any

I can definitely say that
participating to this

In the year of 2008 and the
beginning of 2009, as a President
of the Congress Committee I
have had the honor to witness
most incredible emotions shared
by all the people I have worked
with. Their dreams, their goals
and all their energies have
strongly connected through this
one extraordinary Congress of
AIESEC.
The Global Leaders’ Summit
2009 has been guided by the
spirit of those who believe in
values such as Active Learning,
Innovative Ideas and Diversity.
And it is through Diversity and
Innovation that we built the
concept of the Congress.
Working in a Team of 25 people
coming from 10 different
countries has shown to be about
true Learning and Approaching
Diversity in its deepest
perspectives.
For the first time after a long
time, AIESEC in Italy had
the chance to host the most
important AIESEC Annual
Congress, gathering together
more than 200 young students
coming from 107 different
countries. Rome has been the
magnificent capital of the
AIESEC world during the span
of the Congress.
The result was an incredible
number of events within the
Congress, a great number of
stakeholders having benefited
Letter from the Congress
Committee President

Global Leaders’ Summit 2009
from it, and an outstanding
involvement of human and
intellectual capital, mostly
coming from pro-active students
has been noted. They have made
cultural understanding become
the path to follow in their own
lives.
This is what made Global
Leaders’ Summit special.
As young entrepreneurs, we
managed to achieve great
success, in one of the world’s
worst financial crisis. We
managed to get our partners
and institutions to believe in
the project, even if the external
environment was heavily
influenced by the crisis.
Another OPPORTUNITY for
students to learn and to grow
was processed by AIESEC. This
is what makes our contribution
into a step forward towards a
better place, which we want to
live in.
Finally after a lot of energy
spent during the past three
years, AIESEC in Italy and the
Congress Committee did have
an impact on Italian society,
leaving a footprint that will
be a fundamental memory for
the future of the Association of
AIESEC in Italy.
In conclusion, I would like to
express profound gratitude
to AIESEC in Italy National
Committee, alumni, partner
companies and organisations
for the success obtained while
we have committed ourselves
to live this unforgettable life
experience.
Yours sincerely,
Luigi Gallitto

Anna’s thoughts…
“In restless search for hints capable
of inspiring my creativity.
I constantly observe and try to comprehend
everything that may be useful to me in
order to create something communicatively
appealing.
Being particularly fond of traveling and
feeling strongly attracted by different
cultures, my mind is restlessly seeking new
shapes of communication. Thanks to my
study career I've developed and improved
through the years a well-founded competence
and deep skill in graphic and design.”

The underlying idea of the
Slogan and Logo draws its
inspiration from the world of
music and of the orchestra, the
107 participating Countries are
displayed as the members of
an orchestra. This metaphor is
directed to bring up and stress
the union of several different
instruments (i.e. Countries)
that come together and create
and produce something special
and unique. The orchestra has
its own director. AIESEC, in
the present case (isolated blue-
coloured spot, institutional
colour), plays such role, becoming
landmark and reference point
for each Country, a subject that
coordinates and “offers” to the
public and to the Countries
involved the chance to live an
experience. The graphic shape
that represents AIESEC is a
“gear”, something mechanical,
it’s the element able to activate
the mixture among different
cultures in an innovative way (the
gear is in fact the innovation’s
representation).
Moreover, the shape of the
logo evokes that of an arena,
specifically, for the case at
hand, the sketched plan-
shape of Rome’s Colosseum,
so as to underline under an
iconographical profile also the
location itself.

EXPO2015PRESSCONFERENCE
The purpose of the Press
Conference was to use the platform
of the Global Leaders’ Summit
and its significance for mutual
leverage upon the Congress itself
and the signing of the Expo 2015
Agreement between the City
of Milan and AIESEC in Italy,
with the special presence of Ms.
Letizia Moratti, Mayor of Milan.
The press effect was high, as
expected.
The Press Conference took place
after the Closing Ceremony
of Diversity Day, on the 17th
of February, at the Faculty of
Economics, University of Roma
Sapienza. At the press conference
some of the most important
agreement features of the Expo
2015 cooperation between the City
of Milan and AIESEC in Italy were
presented.
The Mayor of Milan, Ms. Moratti
also had a speech at the Closing
Ceremony of the Global Leaders’
Summit in front of the hundreds of
students present, coming from all
the corners of the world and from
all the Italian Universities, about
the cooperation with AIESEC and
her point of view about the main
theme of the Summit - Diversity.
THE EXPO THEME:
FEEDING THE PLANET,
ENERGY FOR LIFE
Why Expo and AIESEC?
Expo-Milan 2015 together
with AIESEC Italy wrote down
an agreement that states the
future collaboration between
the 2 entities from now till the
realization of the Expo in 2015.
With this agreement the 2 parts
are committed to realize specific
projects and activities about
topics of common interest. Among
the mentioned initiatives there is
the participation of Expo-Milan
2015 to the AIESEC International
Exchange Program that will allow
to many students from all over to
world to come to Italy to work on
the Expo; and the organization of
an international AIESEC meeting
during the period of execution of
the Expo in 2015.
With this agreement Expo-Milan 2015 wants also to recognize
AIESEC as an organization that promotes relevant topics at
global level that are connected to the ones of the Expo and
for this reason will give its patronage for all the initiatives to
promote these topics in the years to come. The agreement was
signed by the Mayor of Milan Letizia Moratti as Extraordinary
Commissioner of the Expo-Milano 2015 and by Davide Moleti on
behalf of AIESEC Italy.

Rome, 10 September 2009
First of all, I would like to express just how
much your organisation has impressed me –
both in terms of its history and its strength.
You have come a long way and there is a lot
to be proud of since 1949, when the number
of exchange students was a mere 89.You have
been widening the horizon of opportunities
for students worldwide, and Italy is pleased
to cooperate with you in promoting the
principles that are the very basis of your
organisation. Principles that are also our own.
As pioneers of the social responsibility of
business and of responsible leadership, which
you instil – of self confidence and cooperation,
striving for excellence, integrity and decision
making – all this is sustainability and
humanity. Yours is a positive initiative
because it is founded on values. The
promotion of peace by developing human
potential, in particular through youth, places
the person at the centre of your activity. This
is something we also promote in our young
generations in Italy.
The values that AIESEC develop individually
and in teams, go to the specific value of your
association – awareness and the building
of awareness through experience. Through
an inter-cultural dialogue you are building
culture, which in turn creates a sense of
belonging to a community. The AIESEC is an
excellent tool to put into practice a dialogue
between students and business, students and
industry, students and institutions so that the
voice of youth the world wide can be heard
and can affect the future.
I wish you all the best in your future activity,
in the firm and hopeful support for the value-
driven and committed future leaders your
organisation is working to form.
Sincerely yours,
Gianni Letta

Before us lies a difficult challenge, but maybe for this reason all the more exciting. We mus put our
talents to use to create our own, unique and rewarding experiences, and at the same time contribute
towards pulling our times out of a recession that risks to move from an economic to a social level.
Our Ability to Innovate, exchange Ideas and products, by tying together diverse experiences and
solutions will be a decisive factor in the creation of a future which is different from the one been
predicted in these days.
We can count on new technologies, we can benefit from the energy released from our age circumstance
- Youth, but to turn things around towards a favorable destiny we definitely need to leverage on
generational solidarity.
That is why AIESEC’s role is important, because it offers itself as a tool for the achievement of
international understanding and because it does so with intelligence and a spirit of friendship
amongst students, that work to improve each other, with the final objective of making the world a
better place.
Naturally I hope that we will be able to make use of truly representative associations, such as yours.
On my behalf there is not just availability, but sincere gratitude if you would wish to share this project”
Being CEO of a company that deals everyday with international development of Italian firms, I am
aware of the economical and financial difficulties that the world is nowadays facing, which have
sensitively increased during last year.
At the present, when crisis makes affairs hard to be managed, student education must be considered
a key issue: tomorrow entrepreneurial class will have the opportunity to develop international and
cooperation projects in order to create new stable sources of Innovation.
The Energy and the Innovation spirit that AIESEC’s network aim at creating in our society, make this
organization be one of the best patterns of young entrepreneurship and represents an unlimited
number of inputs for professional and personal development.
In Italy AIESEC is constantly showing its initiatives based on primary values such as people excellence
and work, innovation, ethics and professional integrity.
We confirm our support and commitment towards AIESEC, which is represented by a qualified group of
young students encouraging relevant initiatives and looking for the best resources and talents in more
than 1100 universities in the world.
SIMEST has already had the privilege over the past year to cooperate with AIESEC in granting their
initiatives the adequate support and we plan to assist them for the forthcoming years.

AT GLOBAL LEADERS’
SUMMIT
AIESEC Global Leaders’ Summit
has represented an extraordinary
challenge for the Organizing
Committee, which has dedicated
around 2 years to shaping it,
preparing it, delivering it to
the intended beneficiaries, and
communicating it properly to all of
its stakeholders.
The extraordinary display of
the many different events,
all significant in their own
perspective, and at the same time
a constructive part of the umbrella
Congress itself, compounded a
communication material complex
to handle, but at the same time
inspiring for an innovative press

The press releasing strategy has
been supported by 2 entities

channels, in order to maximize
the effect of the pre-Congress
communication. The Press Office

The associative year 2008/2009 has been successfully
completed with a profit of 10.133,49 euro.
This result is much more than satisfying knowing that it
has been a challenging year considering both fix costs as well
as unforeseeable ones. Analyzing the balance sheet the total
revenues equal the amount of 109.797,40 euro. In comparison
to last year the revenues are slightly lower, this is as well the
case for the costs registered, which are inferior and add up to
the amount of 99.664,00 euro. It is thanks to a very good cost
cutting policy that made it possible to close the year with
a considerable profit.
The revenues of this term are mainly generated by the new
partnerships signed during the associative year as well as
through the confirmation of some of the most important
historical partnerships. By this we don’t mean to undervalue
the revenues obtained thanks to our Exchange program. All
this, considering as well the financial aspect, allowed the
closing of the associative year having liquidity available that
would ensure a good start for the following term.
One of the costs that caused the decrease of the financial
outcome of the year has been the contingency fund related
to the removal of the credit towards the Ad Hoc Committee of
Global Leaders’ Summit 2009, that has engaged in developing
and organizing what has been for sure the biggest project
of our term.
The most important costs are the ones related to the training
of the associates, to be more precise the participation at
congresses, the costs related to the accommodation and
office of the National Committee and last, the ones related
to the reimbursement of the full time members of the
National Committee for their payments in advance. However
an emphasis should be put on the fact that a good cost
cutting policy has allowed a considerable decrease
of the costs in comparison to the previous year.
Yours faithfully,
Samantha Stella
