This Curriculum Vitae outlines a bit about my personality, what I am passionate about, my work
experience and education.
My working career spans over a variety of industries ranging from IT, Science, Conservation,
Landscape Architecture, Childcare and Not-For-Profit. My time was spent on a variety of projects
and events from initial set-up through to completion that required my skills in Administration,
Accounts, Database, Fundraising, Health & Safety, Human Resources, Marketing, Planning, Project
Management, Promotion, Public Relations, Reception and Community Engagement Services.
My career has been recognised with awards, certificates of recognition and various appearances
on television and radio.
Accounts
• Deposit money, bank reconciliation, bookkeeping, prepare paperwork for auditing
• Process accounts payable/receivable, generate invoices, file invoices, and process GST returns

government agencies as a conduit of information for important news, celebrations, events and
issues that effect Sumner residents.
§ Achievements: Establish: the Sumner Hub, Resources library; Projects that bring about
community connection (i.e. Sumner Community Van; Chatter Soup Social; Sumner Village
Green; Sumner Graffiti Removal); Community noticeboards. Create: Sumner Hub e-news via

important environmental and wildlife conservation projects from a one day experience to 7+
day experience we participants would be transported, fed and housed.

of air pollutants in Canterbury with brochures handed out at shopping malls and in the
newspapers.

material and coordinate staff to be on site to hand out material.

§ About: A newly formed Not-for-Profit organisation with a sole purpose for Clean Water - Open
Space - Safe Recreation and Healthy Ecosystems that can be enjoyed and respect by all.
§ Achievements: Working with the board to help set the trust up. Liaise with members and
government agencies, document relevant trust information for easy reference, support sub
committees with administration. Create a brief for a project called ‘Adopt a patch’ along the
Avon and Heathcote Rivers.

§ About: A small private company that engaged people into fun and creative activities.
§ Achievements: Working alongside Steve Gurney to create a fun event that included a river
cleanup and a competition where competitors had to decorate their floating devices with
lights, and the best-displayed boat won a prize. Document a project manual outlining all the
logistics to run the event, along with a health & safety procedure and manual, coordinate the
event on the day.

§ About: A Crown Research Institute providing a scientific basis for the sustainable management
and development of NZ’s atmospheric, marine and freshwater systems.
§ Achievements: Personal Assistant to three managers and provide reports on staff progress
outputs. Compile weekly project progress reports, manage education bookings and distribute
materials. Set up and maintain national student register and developed the ‘Principal
Scientists Directory of Information’, which outlines all the important information senior scientists,
need to be made aware of especially for new staff.

ENCOS Global Systems 1999 - 2001

§ About: A new start-up company started with three staff and grew to 35 staff in six months with
the aim to develop a software system that tracked items i.e. meat in real time from gate to
plate so consumers knew where their produce came from.
§ Achievements: Introduce new support systems and up-skill on a new HR role. Liaise with legal,
recruitment agencies and business supporting institutes. Conducted exit interviews. Maintain
company share register. Organise annual shareholder meetings. Liaise with shareholders and
companies office.

§ About: A not-for-profit environmental organisation working closely with government agencies
and the community to preserve and protect the local natural environment.
§ Achievements: Network widely to promote the ‘Currumbin Valley Heritage Trail’ project. Design
information handouts and brochures for display. Process membership applications.
Coordinate project planning and prepare applications. Chair meetings and advise on
direction and progress.

Wet Paper Publications & Gold Coast City Council 1995 - 1998
Public Relations Consultant (Part Time Employee)
§ About: A small publishing company working collaboratively with the local council on delivering
public educational programs on ways to conserve water and waste as well as clean
waterways.
§ Achievements: A guest speaker in various schools on ‘No time to Waste’, ‘Waterwise’ and
‘Waterwatch’ programs. Develop a Television and Radio competition with a storyboard for
school children to write their script. Select the winning entry and organise their commercial to
be professionally filmed for television and recorded for radio. Produce a 30 second television
commercial introducing the Waterwise program. Negotiate a budget with radio and television
stations to air the commercials. Organise a launch in a local high profile shopping complex
inviting schools and local councilors to the stage to reveal the winning entries.

§ Achievements: Upgrade the Managed Account Service filing system into a better managed
format, consult with share registrars, maintain client investment bank accounts, processing
share contract notes, maintain client share register and process client’s income tax reports on
their dividend revenue, signature of Gavin Ross Trust account.

Sumner Community Group Apr 2011 – Aug 2012
Community engagement role (Part Time Voluntary)
§ About: A grass roots organisation I set up post Sumner Community Response Hub to engage
with the Sumner community to bring about resilience and connection.
§ Achievements: Create Neighbourhood Emergency Response Training workshop and organise
public meetings on earthquake related issues. Co-setup and manage
www.sumnercommunity.co.nz. Host a public meeting to touch, move and inspire the
residents of Sumner to continue with their energy and join a newly formed community group.
Coordinate the formation of new community groups i.e. Sumner Disaster Response Group,
Sumner Urban Design Group, Sumner Environment Group, Sumner Creative Art Group, Sumner
Local Food Group. Created the Sumner community noticeboard. Created the Sumner
community hard copy newsletters. Assisted the community with concerns raised and
responded with information. Meet with key stakeholders to discuss resilience issues for Sumner
should another earthquake happen. Give interviews for research purposes. Purchase a 12
seated van for community use and seek companies to advertise on the van.

Sumner Community Response Hub Feb 2011 – Apr 2011
Hub Coordinator (Part Time Voluntary)
§ About: A group of locals came together to set up an emergency hub to provide information,
food, resources and shelter.
§ Achievements: Rise to the occasion of emergency response by setting up an emergency hub
and welfare centre, manage volunteers to work in the hub. Give interviews to the media.
Organise emergency response meetings with Civil Defense, Red Cross, CCC. Coordinate a
pop-up school for three weeks to give parents a break whilst they sorted out their damaged
homes, and for the children to connect with their friends, and for the teachers to teach whilst
they couldn’t work due to damaged schools. Give interviews for research purposes.

Reason for leaving: Only required to operate during a time of need post earthquake.
Save the Avon Heathcote Estuary Protest (2 months) 2001
Coordinator (Part Time Voluntary)
§ About: A number of residents wanted to express their concern on CCC’s request to renew their
contract with ECan to continually discharge partially treated effluent into the Estuary.
§ Achievements: Join forces with Steve Gurney to promote an event through all media channels
and coordinate 1,000+ participants lined up along the estuary protesting. Giving interviews to
the media. Generate flyers and promote. Create a petition, distribute and deliver to ECan.

Environment Canterbury Feb 2010 - Jul 2010 Clean Heat Administrative Assistant (Fixed term contract) § About: A small team within Environment Canterbury working towards promoting the reduction of air pollutants in Canterbury with brochures handed out at shopping malls and in the newspapers. § Achievements: Communicate with key players, email material, organise couriers, source materials, provide reports on successful outcomes. Avon Heathcote Estuary Ihutai Trust (AHEIT) Sep 2005 – Mar 2006 Coordinator (Part Time Consultant) § About: A newly formed Not-for-Profit organisation with a sole purpose for Clean Water - Open Space - Safe Recreation and Healthy Ecosystems that can be enjoyed and respect by all. § Achievements: Working with the board to help set the trust up. Liaise with members and government agencies, document relevant trust information for easy reference, support sub committees with administration. Glow Glow Glow Your Boat Jan 2005 – Aug 2005 Project Manager (Short Term Contract) § About: A small private company that engaged people into fun and creative activities. § Achievements: Working alongside Steve Gurney to create a fun event that included a river cleanup and a competition where competitors had to decorate their floating devices with lights, and the best-displayed boat won a prize. ENCOS Global Systems 1999 - 2001 Administration/HR/Accounts (Full Time Employee) § About: A new start-up company started with three staff and grew to 35 staff in six months with the aim to develop a software system that tracked items i.e. meat in real time from gate to plate so consumers knew where their produce came from. § Achievements: Introduce new support systems and up-skill on a new HR role. Chair meetings and advise on direction and progress. § Key Tasks: Administration, Accounts, Fundraising, Project manage, Public relations, Reception Reason for leaving: Study full time at university Wet Paper Publications & Gold Coast City Council 1995 - 1998 Public Relations Consultant (Part Time Employee) § About: A small publishing company working collaboratively with the local council on delivering public educational programs on ways to conserve water and waste as well as clean waterways. § Achievements: A guest speaker in various schools on ‘No time to Waste’, ‘Waterwise’ and ‘Waterwatch’ programs. Develop a Television and Radio competition with a storyboard for school children to write their script. Select the winning entry and organise their commercial to be professionally filmed for television and recorded for radio. Produce a 30 second television commercial introducing the Waterwise program. Negotiate a budget with radio and television stations to air the commercials. Sumner Community Group Apr 2011 – Aug 2012 Community engagement role (Part Time Voluntary) § About: A grass roots organisation I set up post Sumner Community Response Hub to engage with the Sumner community to bring about resilience and connection. § Achievements: Create Neighbourhood Emergency Response Training workshop and organise public meetings on earthquake related issues. Co-setup and manage www.sumnercommunity.co.nz. Host a public meeting to touch, move and inspire the residents of Sumner to continue with their energy and join a newly formed community group. Coordinate the formation of new community groups i.e. Sumner Disaster Response Group, Sumner Urban Design Group, Sumner Environment Group, Sumner Creative Art Group, Sumner Local Food Group. Created the Sumner community noticeboard. Created the Sumner community hard copy newsletters. Assisted the community with concerns raised and responded with information. Meet with key stakeholders to discuss resilience issues for Sumner should another earthquake happen. Give interviews for research purposes. Sumner Community Response Hub Feb 2011 – Apr 2011 Hub Coordinator (Part Time Voluntary) § About: A group of locals came together to set up an emergency hub to provide information, food, resources and shelter. § Achievements: Rise to the occasion of emergency response by setting up an emergency hub and welfare centre, manage volunteers to work in the hub. Give interviews to the media. Organise emergency response meetings with Civil Defense, Red Cross, CCC. Coordinate a pop-up school for three weeks to give parents a break whilst they sorted out their damaged homes, and for the children to connect with their friends, and for the teachers to teach whilst they couldn’t work due to damaged schools. Save the Avon Heathcote Estuary Protest (2 months) 2001 Coordinator (Part Time Voluntary) § About: A number of residents wanted to express their concern on CCC’s request to renew their contract with ECan to continually discharge partially treated effluent into the Estuary. § Achievements: Join forces with Steve Gurney to promote an event through all media channels and coordinate 1,000+ participants lined up along the estuary protesting. Giving interviews to the media. Generate flyers and promote.
