theme of UBI - a Workshop

We are Hunome.
A collective insights platform helping humanity make sense of itself. We connect
perspectives to build a multidimensional understanding of how the world works or
should work.
With human ingenuity, and some Hunome magic, we collectively problem-solve
and help unlock some of the biggest societal issues, today and tomorrow. We
seek to help, with the community, understand the many realities people
encounter and the impact across many themes of everyday life and the loftier,
more complex situations we humans have created and want to change.
UBI seeks to understand how the societies might re-design a well being system
that supports humans meaningfully with universal basic income.
UBI community × Hunome can make this happen.
Our shared interest will give you the ability to explore and contribute towards the
theme of UBI in a fluid and flexible way that evolves over the course of UBI’s work
to re-design the system during 2022-2023, and delivers a lasting and
multidimensional output, beyond the events.

UBI Lab × Hunome
Enter Hunome.
Hunome is Helsinki-based startup and we launched our MVP in April 2021. We are a diverse
team of 10+.
Our platform is designed for exploring themes requiring many fields of understanding to
come together, like the future that beckons. We are designed for human connection, for
understanding multidimensional themes and change, for reimagining our world and how it
works or should work.
Attendees of select UBI Lab events will be able gain a better idea of where their ideas fit in
the overall understanding, while broadening their thinking by exploring other attendees’
perspectives.
Best of all, this requires very little from you; Hunome is free-of-charge, and ready to go.

1. Sign-up to Hunome in advance
Registration is in two easy parts
○ The first step helps us get to know you better - Please note that we
then invite from a list so please mention ‘UBI’ as a source as you
sign-up.
○ The second step builds your profile
For the best experience for our session, sign-up to Hunome in advance. Email
verification sometimes ends up in Spam folders, and profile building takes time.

2. Find the SparkMap for the session on ‘UBI’
To get us started, we’ve created a starting point for us to build from - you can
find it by searching UBI or universal basic income after you’ve signed up.
Take a look around and read the example Sparks.

Option 2: Sign-up during the first few
minutes of the session. This will take a few
steps to do. However, even if you register
mid-way through you can join the building
of shared understanding.
Option 3: Sign-up after the event to
continue our build for a very rich
understanding on the causes, impacts and
fixes on misinformation. During the session
you can follow what happens on the screen.
For all options: The resulting SparkMap
(a parts of it) will be shared post-event
on the Hunome social media channels
and you can continue to make sense
of universal basic income.
3 quick steps to getting ready for our workshop

3. Contribute to the fabric of thought
A SparkMap is a rich collection of connected perspectives, thoughts, ideas,
opinions and experiences.
Feel free to start contributing right away, in two ways:
● Add a SparkOn - a connected thought anywhere on the SparkMap:
○ Click on any Spark to read, click ‘SparkOn’
○ Add a title, perspective, and an image (select from gallery or upload
your own). You can elaborate your thoughts to add more text, but this
part isn’t mandatory.
○ Click Next, add your Knowtype (how do you know what you wrote)
and other ‘Ignites’ that provide context to your Spark, if appropriate.
○ Publish. Now your SparkOn is a part of our map on UBI and visible to
others to interact with.
● Add an Ignite - giving the Spark you are reading or writing more context:
○ Click on any Spark to read and click ‘Ignite’
○ Select any number of Ignites that you think apply to the Spark

3 quick steps to getting ready for our workshop

What do we need from you?
Nothing much, or really all you’ve got!
Sign-up and go with the flow…
The team at UBI Lab and Hunome will create some examples and facilitate the session, however regardless of the option re
sign-in you choose to do, we would need the following from you:
1. Your thoughts around UBI: why this is so important, what impact UBI could have, the history of income to
understand the human evolution and more as part of our shared understanding. During the session or after.
2. Your curiosity and sense of the collective brought to bear in the session in your presence and participation. The key
Aha idea about engaging on Hunome is that there are no particular rules of thought, just that as you read a Spark and
add to it you have some connection to the previous Spark. This helps others follow the train of thought that is built on a
particular theme on a particular SparkMap.
Together we can make a difference to building a shared understanding on UBI. Humanity needs this!
