1. Back End Developer

Forbes Magazine, our client is attempting to change the way sport is consumed
in the digital world with a genuinely innovative mobile-first product approach.
The role incorporates responsibility for development of backend services
supporting the Clients network. The ideal Developer will have several years
experience of developing in multiple languages and environments, a strong
understanding of scaling concerned and a proven track record of delivering
working code within time/budget constraints.
Role requirements:
 At least 5 years domain experience
 Fluency in multiple languages (PHP and Javascript/Node.js a must)
 Excellent understanding of data modelling concerns: Type of data store,
indexing, querying etc.
 Experience with architecting, deploying, and maintaining systems in a
live, high-traffic environment.
 Self-motivation / Initiative – Candidate is expected to be able to operate
without being explicitly directed at all times.
 Readiness to take responsibility for aspects of our backend systems, to
“own” his/her code
Technical requirements:

 PHP
 Javascipt/Node.js
 SQL Databases (mysql etc)
 Non-SQL Data stores (MongoDB etc)
 Git/Version control
 Gearman/Async queue processing
 Shell Scripting
 Apache/Nginx
