This letter of recommendation is provided at the written request of Maribel Valentin who has asked
me to serve as a reference on her behalf. It is my understanding that Maribel will soon be applying
for a position in your organization.
I have known Maribel for just over two years. During this period of time I have had an opportunity
to observe her participation and interaction in classes in our nursing program. In Fundamentals of
Nursing, Maribel was able to provide appropriate, family-centered care to patients and utilized the
nursing process throughout the course. I also had Maribel in my Nursing Role & Scope classroom
and she was an active learner, demonstrating novice critical thinking skills via papers and
proctored, standardized exams. I had Maribel as a student in my OB clinical group while she was
an LPN student as well; she was able to provide care to mothers and babies with little direction.
Based upon her academic performance and my understanding of the position for which she will be
applying, I believe Maribel would perform very well in this or any future nursing position in your
organization.
