Bitterbrush is a shrub species found throughout eastern Oregon and the Klamath basin, occurring along roadsides, forests, hills, and mountain slopes. It has small, alternate leaves that are green to gray-green in color and clustered on spur shoots, and produces small yellow flowers. Bitterbrush is an important browse for elk, deer, and antelope.
