This case study examines the Dilli Haat visitor center located in Janakpuri, New Delhi. The center was designed by Archohm Consults in 2014 and covers an area of 16,000 square meters. It features four large bamboo basket-shaped towers that house exhibition and workshop spaces. The design aims to recreate the feel of traditional markets and bazaars with both formal and informal shopping areas. Key elements include an entrance pavilion, basement parking, 800-person amphitheater, 100 craft stalls, 74 open shops, and a food court with a glass facade admitting natural light.

4. AIM AND OBJECTIVE
To study the variety of displays in a visitors center.

To study the various types of temporary as well
as permanent structures.

5. CONCEPTUAL DIAGRAM
A multipurpose, multi-scaled exposition hall for exhibitions and
seminars is proposed. A set of four baskets houses a music museum, a
music store and music workshop space along with tourism offices and
cafes.
Formal, informal and open shop spaces are created to bring in the
required sensitive adaptations of malls, markets and bazaars into this
haat.
The four 8 m high towers are interspersed
along the site. Designed to look like huge
bamboo baskets, they are two storied
buildings with a roof top canopy designed
for outdoor activities. Closer to the entry, one
basket houses the information center, while
the other forms a café.
