Sento™ Tower is a residential building of about 12,000 sq. m. containing 41 apartments of three and four
bedrooms, and located on a plot of 2302 sq. m. The luxury market targeted by this project and the small
size of its plot led to a design that moved beyond the common conceptualization of a tower and brought
about a breakthrough in this typology. The goal of Sento™ Tower, based on a patented solution, is to
embrace diversity, bringing together spaces that evoke varying emotions and sensations. This project
embodies a “glocal” mindset and focuses on higher value creation.
The project is a cohesive whole comprised of stylistically distinct parts, which leverage the different
views and provides spaces suited to different styles of living. This flexibility is achieved through the use
of different typologies: duplexes in the lowest levels, iconic apartments in the middle floors, and lofts in
the upper volumes. Each typology is separated by intimate and sophisticated sky lobbies and lounges
that serve as common areas appropriate for a luxury market. These open floors also create a visual
division between each volume of apartments and contribute to the smart and slim image of the tower.
This visual discontinuity extends from the materiality of the building’s façades to its complex and varied
interiors, including a commercial space and amenities in the podium and crown of the building. These
spaces boast such amenities as a home theater, pool area, and gym, as well as shops and restaurants.

Linked to a metro line, Haugerud is a downgraded suburban area in Oslo with several big, unstructured
residential blocks, which were built in the 1970s, and which are surrounded by open areas without any
urban character. The flexible and iconic proposal for this low-income development consists of a succession
of building-rings encompassing a big garden that links the metro to a nearby forest. Each ring has its own
character with strong emphasis on landscaping.
This strategy creates a fresh identity for the neighborhood, providing a sense of belonging by renewing
the residual spaces between blocks and by forging new relationships between the preexisting monotonous
elements. The total project consists of 31,000 sq. ft. of residential space, 40,000 sq. ft. of space for
commercial use, 30,000 sq. ft. for educational use, and 7,000 sq.ft. of infrastructure.

MIXED-USE. Religare Complex-Gurgaon. New Delhi, India.
25 26
The Religare Complex-Gurgaon, located in New Delhi, India, is designed by leveraging the
location, while working around the complexities of the building code and geometry of the
plots.
The building is placed adjacent to a large sloped plaza that separates the building from
an electrical tower near the road. It creates a space for outside recreation and retail, brings
monumentality to the buildings, and provides an effective solution for the irregular geometry
of the plot. These public spaces connect the front of the plot with the boulevard at its back,
allowing for open-covered retailing areas with cafes and other temporal entertainment.
The structure of the Big-Box is visible on the outside and allows large structural spans inside,
minimizing the internal columns to create greater flexibility. This solution also provides a
cost effective “second skin” to the building, creating a very monumental and continuous
experience along the boulevard and allowing hiding the actual lateral facade of the Big-Box
store.
The hotel and the offices are located on a private park that holds both buildings together,
creating a perception of unity, but keeping their operations and circulations fully separate.
These buildings are designed as low-rise structures to minimize the impact of the setback
on the Big-Box store.

The project, located in the outskirts of La Paz, consist on a master plan for a mixed use building in Bolivia
that brings together office and educational areas with housing and commercial spaces.
The plot, which has a surface of 9,640 sq. m., has a steep topography and a very restricted geometry,
given its mere 20-meter width in some areas. The building acts as a link that enhances and preserves
the surroundings between the Chuqueyapu River and the four-lane road that runs along the valley. A
big opening, which works as a pedestrian avenue, is created to permit visual connections between the
ground level and the exterior, while maximizing daylight and natural ventilation. More than 13,500 sq. m.
of retailers and restaurants are located in this space, which is meant to be a meeting point of the new
area, creating a renovated and pleasant experience in contrast to the concept of a traditional mall.
The university, offices, and apartments are located in the upper levels, while the roof is occupied by a
park that improves the landscape, extends the greenery to the nearby bridge, and provides a new civic
area for the neighborhood.

The building is a 400-meter high freestanding mixed-use tower, designed with the mission of creating
a pioneering and innovative structure, which will stand as a new-age landmark and as a symbol of
Taiwan’s spirit. The proposed shape has inspirational features, such as those of the Eiffel Tower (struc-
ture and icon), Origami (symbol generation), and Taiwan’s star flag (identity).
The project takes into consideration the need to serve as the visual focus and the new gateway image
for the Taichung area. With this goal in mind, the building offers a different stunning appearance from
every angle.

Located in one of the most prestigious sites on the coast of Panama, the tower stands out in
the Panama City skyline as a graceful sculpture, radiant and colorful. The massing of the tower
reflects the program, which includes a five-star hotel and luxury apartments on top.
The podium includes all of the common areas of the hotel on two basement levels and is
oriented to a hidden garden, which is invisible from the street level. While the luxury apartments
share common amenities with the hotel, they have separate entrances from the ground floor,
and provide their own amenities in a space directly connected through a private sky lobby.

The Ecolighthouse™ project represents a new way of approaching contact with nature. It is not a hotel; it
is profound interaction between mankind and nature. Ecolighthouse™ offers a new direction for what we
call environmental lifestyle, a new way of interacting with the environment, blurring boundaries between
design and tradition, architecture and landscape.
The concept of Ecolighthouse™ is based on a patent-pending solution that allows different configura-
tions. Each room is a duplex apartment with a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. The project
has a low environmental impact, and can be mounted in remote areas within 60 days using materials
that also can be easily dismantled.
The modular solution permits different architectural formalizations and different scales, but always host a
limited number of guests in order to ensure a low impact on the surrounding environment.

township. ORAGADAM social HOUSING. Chennai, India.
The project consists of the design for the Masterplan, Concept, and Schematic of the Architecture for
all of the buildings in this full township of 26.6 acres, two million sq. ft., and over 2,500 homes in South
India. This township targets the "affordable market sector," with two bedroom-apartments selling for
25,000 US dollars.
The project includes a diversity of housing typologies and public buildings, such as shopping areas,
cinemas, health centers, and clubhouses for the community. Parking is also provided for each apartment.
The project brings references to traditional Southern European architecture, an element emphasized as an
important requirement in the design brief. The township brings new interpretations of such Mediterranean
architecture, combining it with local Indian traditions in an innovative contemporary approach. The overall
project and each of the apartments are vastu compliant, which is extremely rare in this type of large-scale
development. The design also fulfills a complex phasing requirement of construction and approvals.
The required high density of the development emerges around public areas and gardens, which shape
the experience of the township, creating a vibrant and elegant community.

urban planning. azca ecopark. Madrid, Spain.
77 78
The project is a complex urban intervention located at the heart of the financial district of Madrid. The
existing urban areas around the most important buildings are old and create many problems for the
movement of pedestrians.
AZCA Ecopark creates a new way of understanding interrelationships. Spatial perception and circulations
are prioritized over the previously chaotic public spaces of the site. This prioritization is achieved through
an understanding of this urban space as a garden taking shape above the activities below ground, such
as those of parking structures and retail stores, removing the preexisting architectural barriers.
Like a Zen garden, this project combines the use of hardscape with water-bodies. Both elements
complement and interact with the existing towers’ openings, redefining the entrances to the existing
buildings with elliptically shaped gaps, which bring light to the lower levels. The overall landscaping
is shaped with organic stripes of hardscape and water elements that create the unique character of
the garden. The water discharged from the office towers in the area is treated with advanced natural
techniques, using plants and bio-organisms to make AZCA a self-sufficient and sustainable EcoPark.

cultural. WATER MUSEUM. Zaragoza, Spain.
The project for the Museum of Water evokes images of water through its print, strategies and materials
(including water), which are used to depict its grandiosity. The building incorporates local elements to
showcase the need for sensitivity toward water and water use. The building is 55,000 sq. ft. (5,000 sq.
m.), and is organized around eight massing volumes marked as if by water erosion.
In the interstitial spaces, skylights with water on top bright light into the plaza outside the exhibition
center. This plaza becomes an essential component of the program of the building, which can host
expositions and events.
The geometry of the building and the use of organic structures and materials, such as brick, are repre-
sentative of the traditional construction in the area, and allude to the structures used by Gaudí, the
famous local architect of the 19th century, who created a new way of understanding organic architecture.

GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM. Helsinki, Finland.
Art as Zeitgeist, as a reflection of the society and world we live in. The culture reflected in the first
Guggenheim museum of the late 1940s is different from that of today. ABIBOO's vision for the
Guggenheim-Helsinki is to represent today’s reality, while retaining the soul of its sister museums.
Synthetic-inductive thinking offers a way to reflect reality from the bottom up. Our design takes this
approach for the Guggenheim-Helsinki, while continuing the Organicism seen in the work of Wright and
Gehry. However, in this case, growth occurs in a non-hierarchical order. Rather than providing a central
atrium, the new museum grows non-directionally; each space has different characteristics, but holds
similar importance. This fragmentation exists as a natural consequence of a synthetic-inductive process.
Our design extends the theme of discontinuity from the interior spaces to the materiality of the façades,
allowing it to define the relationships between spaces.
The increasing barrage of inputs in our contemporary world, mainly visual in nature, has led to a greater
and more urgent search for profound sensorial experiences, and for a deeper sense of community. Our
design seeks to embrace this pursuit, in which Finnish culture has long been a leader.
The importance of materiality and nature, social responsibility, and non-hierarchical structures has
been profoundly alive in Finland for centuries. As a consequence, the proposed Guggenheim draws
inspiration from Finnish culture for the creation of each individual space, especially in regards to sensorial
experiences and to the project’s relationship with the landscape and environment.

Carlos III High School is located in the city of Toledo in the central region of Spain. The project
consists of a low-cost building as an extension of a preexisting school. The program has four
classrooms, teachers’ rooms, and a conference hall.
Using the existing high terrain slope at the plot to divide the program, the classrooms and
teachers’ rooms are on the top floor of the building, at the same level as the rest of the
classrooms of the preexisting high school. The multipurpose hall located downstairs is provided
with independent access from the garden. It is proposed that the building’s façade be made up
of a continuous, yellow, low-cost material in order to create a contrast with the red bricks of the
surroundings.

The project was commissioned by the Gulf University of Science and Technology (GUST), one
of the leading science Universities in the Gulf Region. The project consisted of the extension
and redevelopment of Professional Advancement and Continuing Education (PACE) Center in
Kuwait.
The University’s desire to modernize the entire campus, with particular emphasis on PACE
interiors, allowed ABIBOO to design a dynamic and contemporary space as the landmark of the
campus, conveying that excellence and elegance begin at the first step of the University, the
student recruitment facilities at PACE.
The idea was to give freshness to the complex and to communicate through Architecture the
values of technology and innovation, which have contributed to the leadership role of GUST in
such fields.

The ELA Residential Complex is located in the city of Chennai in southeast India. The project comprises
1000 apartments and studios, the latter intended for students of a nearby university. The project has a
series of facilities that serve the residences, as well as vast green areas, which will be connected to an
urban park also planned by ABIBOO Architecture in the same plot, as per Indian legal requirements.
The site is located next to the main national highway connecting the two largest cities in Southern India
(Chennai and Bangalore).
The project combines a number of independent blocks, articulated in two areas defined by the presence
of an existing power line tower on the site, which serves as the structuring element of a large linear
eco-park with innovative solutions for alternative energy resources. Spaces for social interaction are
designed alongside the numerous green spaces provided in order to create a healthy living environment.

Lavanya™ Residential Towers is an affordable housing development located at Kolkata West Inter-
national City (KWIC), Kolkata. With an open South end, the buildings are laid out to maximize natural
lighting and airflow in order to create a joyful and healthy environment.
Each floor has been planned on a six-flats-per-floor model. The floor plans are designed by a local team.
The requirement of this project was to change the exterior design to ensure an appealing façade for the
building to be approved by the local authorities, while keeping the floor plans intact. It was also important
to maintain or reduce the original construction cost estimated for the development.
This challenge was met by a simple strategy of fenestration that facilitated reduction in cost while giving
an abstract, contemporary and international look to the towers.

The project consists of eight luxury villas located in a prime plot close to the beach on the southeastern
coast of India. Each villa design is a reinterpretation of traditional vastu-compliant houses. The typical
central patio becomes here a double-height infinity pool located on the first floor. The rest of the rooms
are organized along this central monumental space, facing different directions with unobstructed views
of the sea.
The building massing strategy also allows double-side ventilations and self-shading, which is a critical
factor in the hot weather of Southern India. The pool is presented as a perforated box that allows the light
to come inside, creating a dramatic space that gives a sense of grandeur and solemnity.
The program of each villa includes the common areas at the ground floor, the spaces at the first floor
with direct access to the pool, and the bedrooms at the top floor. The eight villas are placed overlapping
one another in order to ensure views from each single villa.

Alongside the House, there are an entrance hall, a leisure space, and a fitness center, which open

outside yard area, providing the most interesting views of the south of the plot, where most of the outside
vegetation is located.
The configuration of the various areas of the house correspond to the vastu philosophy that not only mark
the relationship between the rooms and the orientation of the main spaces of the house, but also search
for the best views and the best orientations weather-wise for each room. All of the main spaces of the

sq.ft. (6120 sq. m.) and the resulting villa has a total built up area of 48,400 sq. ft. (4500 sq. m.).
The house is organized in two floors surrounding a central patio, which functions as a source of light,
ventilation, and the “lungs of the gods” as per local traditions. The ground floor includes the public
program for guests and visitors, the pooja room, formal and family living room, kitchen, bar, home cinema,
entertainment area, and study room. The first floor hosts the library, swimming pool, its corresponding
deck, and the family bedrooms, each with private terraces, which are suited to this particular climate and
which form an important relationship with the landscaping.
The exterior is designed such that despite the huge scale of the house, it has a compartmentalized
character, making the experience closer to the human scale. This compartmentalization is achieved with
white stucco volumes at the second floor, which provide a contrast to the stone-textured podium at the
ground floor. The house is surrounded by a luxurious garden, which is divided in different sections with
distinct character, following the same strategies as the architectural design.
A service quarters is attached to the building with a similar massing strategy to ensure integration with
the main house. The quarters include offices, rooms, and utility spaces associated with the service staff.

residential. casa h. Madrid, Spain.
Casa H is located in an affluent area in Madrid. The house has a floor area of 14,000 sq. ft. (1,300 sq.
m.) and is the answer to the broad and diverse functional needs of the client, a well-known international
sportsman.
The villa is designed as a sponge, with multiple micro-spaces. Each micro-space is designed with a
special relationship to a particular sensorial experience, all of which are interrelated. The ground floor
has the typical program associated with a villa, along with many patios that make the house look bigger
due to its integration with the site. The first floor includes spaces such as offices, guest rooms, and play
areas. The basement includes private spaces, such as meditation rooms, a gym, and a spa, and also
social spaces, such as party areas and lounges.
The secondary areas are built with an exposed concrete façade, while the day spaces in the center of the
floor plan are made of stucco and glass. Finally, the night areas are shown to the outside in a metallic
ventilated façade that reflects the light and creates a strong contrast between all the different materials
used.
The environmental commitment of the project go beyond the use of eco-friendly materials; the villa also
pays special attention to passive strategies that respond to sun radiation, natural light, and wind.

This villa is located in a luxury compound in a residential area in Madrid on a site next to a golf course
with excellent views of the mountains. The house includes different spaces appropriate for a five-member
family, such as a library, a home theater, and a playing area or outdoor sports area, among others. The
total area of the villa is 14,000 sq. ft. (1,300 sq. m.).
The villa is located in the center of the plot, protected and integrated with the century-old trees that
currently exist at the site. Also, like a tree, the house is organized along a central area that becomes
the vertical core of the villa. The rest of the spaces, very clearly identified from the outside, orient
themselves to ensure views of some of the many interesting spots around the site. The integration with
the topography and the landscape of each space at the villa is one of the most important characteristics
of this house.

“I've been involved in the financial industry in the US for over 35 years: from the Pacific to the New York
Stock Exchanges; from Merrill Lynch to Standard & Poor's. Several years ago, I became acquainted with
Alfredo Munoz and ABIBOO on a personal basis: I moved into an ABIBOO designed building. Over the
course of those years, at my urging, Alfredo has shared with me designs of incredible architectural visions
throughout the world, designed for various purposes and functions, in diverse and unique geographic
settings. Amazing and breathtaking!
ABIBOO's work is not just form however: it is practical application while maintaining the true spirit of
the location. I know: I live in one. I also know from my financial industry experience that developed real
estate should not be viewed as a ‘quick trade.’ In the case of ABIBOO’s conceived facilities, extreme
care and artistry combine with the larger view, to produce legendary buildings that will stand time and
temporal fads. The overwhelming impact of the completed project makes pale any rendering, and the
immensity of the value created may cause a visceral reaction to consider flipping the creation. Only for
a second however, as human nature will compel you to hold dear something as unique and powerful as
an ABIBOO property. The value both aesthetically and monetarily will only grow as time passes. It's what
we call in my business, ‘a good trade.’”
David Rich
Senior Director
Standard & Poor's
at Wall Street, New York
USA
“We at Gust University-Kuwait had a project; an architectural project that had to be completed for our
university, this project was complex, was in the educational sector and had a lot of challenges on the time
frame that had been given to it. My team and I were looking for a firm that could help us in our objectives
and I selected ABIBOO Architecture and signed with them for their innovative and creative profile. After
signing with them and working closely with their offices in India, United States and Spain, they achieved
our expectations to our entire satisfaction and finishing the architectural project before the due date. We
appreciate their work and I am looking forward to working with them again in the future.”
Ebraheem Alforaih
Director
Mishref Campus
Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST)
Kuwait
“I think I am one of the most appropriate to talk about ABIBOO because I have known them for many
years. We have built my dream house. I am delighted because since the day we met Alfredo and his
team, we saw their passion for architecture and that is one of the things I liked the most about them,
since I also felt great passion for my dream job when I was an active soccer player. Also the exclusive
attention I receive from ABIBOO is very important, it is indeed essential for me. I am thrilled and happy
that I met Alfredo and his team as they exceeded all the expectations that I had for my house. I believe
that if I will ever build anything else again it will definitely be with ABIBOO.”
Iván Helguera
Former Soccer Player
Real Madrid and the Spanish National Team
Spain
“My personal experience of working closely with the executive team of ABIBOO Architecture has been
refreshing, very valuable and highly professional. I look forward to the next collaboration with ABIBOO.”
C. Velan
CEO
Tata Realty & Infrastructures Limited
(Tril Infopark Limited), Chennai
India
“India is one of the economies with the fastest growth in the world and our company wants to change
the lifestyle here through residential projects. We are very happy that we have teamed up with ABIBOO
Architecture firm to achieve this goal by assigning them many projects.
They have done fantastic new designs and they have also blended into this culture so well not only from
the point of view of the design but also from their management style: it is a great surprise to us and we
are very happy to have a relationship with this firm.”

  • 5. 7 8 Sento™ Tower is a residential building of about 12,000 sq. m. containing 41 apartments of three and four bedrooms, and located on a plot of 2302 sq. m. The luxury market targeted by this project and the small size of its plot led to a design that moved beyond the common conceptualization of a tower and brought about a breakthrough in this typology. The goal of Sento™ Tower, based on a patented solution, is to embrace diversity, bringing together spaces that evoke varying emotions and sensations. This project embodies a “glocal” mindset and focuses on higher value creation. The project is a cohesive whole comprised of stylistically distinct parts, which leverage the different views and provides spaces suited to different styles of living. This flexibility is achieved through the use of different typologies: duplexes in the lowest levels, iconic apartments in the middle floors, and lofts in the upper volumes. Each typology is separated by intimate and sophisticated sky lobbies and lounges that serve as common areas appropriate for a luxury market. These open floors also create a visual division between each volume of apartments and contribute to the smart and slim image of the tower. This visual discontinuity extends from the materiality of the building’s façades to its complex and varied interiors, including a commercial space and amenities in the podium and crown of the building. These spaces boast such amenities as a home theater, pool area, and gym, as well as shops and restaurants. SENTOTM TOWER N.01. Bangalore, India.

  • 11. Linked to a metro line, Haugerud is a downgraded suburban area in Oslo with several big, unstructured residential blocks, which were built in the 1970s, and which are surrounded by open areas without any urban character. The flexible and iconic proposal for this low-income development consists of a succession of building-rings encompassing a big garden that links the metro to a nearby forest. Each ring has its own character with strong emphasis on landscaping. This strategy creates a fresh identity for the neighborhood, providing a sense of belonging by renewing the residual spaces between blocks and by forging new relationships between the preexisting monotonous elements. The total project consists of 31,000 sq. ft. of residential space, 40,000 sq. ft. of space for commercial use, 30,000 sq. ft. for educational use, and 7,000 sq.ft. of infrastructure. • 13. 23 24 MIXED-USE. Religare Complex-Gurgaon. New Delhi, India.
  • 14. 25 26 The Religare Complex-Gurgaon, located in New Delhi, India, is designed by leveraging the location, while working around the complexities of the building code and geometry of the plots.
The building is placed adjacent to a large sloped plaza that separates the building from an electrical tower near the road. It creates a space for outside recreation and retail, brings monumentality to the buildings, and provides an effective solution for the irregular geometry of the plot. These public spaces connect the front of the plot with the boulevard at its back, allowing for open-covered retailing areas with cafes and other temporal entertainment. The structure of the Big-Box is visible on the outside and allows large structural spans inside, minimizing the internal columns to create greater flexibility. This solution also provides a cost effective “second skin” to the building, creating a very monumental and continuous experience along the boulevard and allowing hiding the actual lateral facade of the Big-Box store. The hotel and the offices are located on a private park that holds both buildings together, creating a perception of unity, but keeping their operations and circulations fully separate. These buildings are designed as low-rise structures to minimize the impact of the setback on the Big-Box store. Religare Complex-Gurgaon. New Delhi, India.

  • 18. 33 34 The project, located in the outskirts of La Paz, consist on a master plan for a mixed use building in Bolivia that brings together office and educational areas with housing and commercial spaces. The plot, which has a surface of 9,640 sq. m., has a steep topography and a very restricted geometry, given its mere 20-meter width in some areas. The building acts as a link that enhances and preserves the surroundings between the Chuqueyapu River and the four-lane road that runs along the valley. A big opening, which works as a pedestrian avenue, is created to permit visual connections between the ground level and the exterior, while maximizing daylight and natural ventilation. More than 13,500 sq. m. of retailers and restaurants are located in this space, which is meant to be a meeting point of the new area, creating a renovated and pleasant experience in contrast to the concept of a traditional mall. The university, offices, and apartments are located in the upper levels, while the roof is occupied by a park that improves the landscape, extends the greenery to the nearby bridge, and provides a new civic area for the neighborhood. • 23. The building is a 400-meter high freestanding mixed-use tower, designed with the mission of creating a pioneering and innovative structure, which will stand as a new-age landmark and as a symbol of Taiwan’s spirit. The proposed shape has inspirational features, such as those of the Eiffel Tower (struc- ture and icon), Origami (symbol generation), and Taiwan’s star flag (identity). The project takes into consideration the need to serve as the visual focus and the new gateway image for the Taichung area. With this goal in mind, the building offers a different stunning appearance from every angle. 0 10 20 30 40 50 0 105 20 Section 0 10 20 30 40 50 taiwan tower. Taichung, Taiwan. 43 44

The podium includes all of the common areas of the hotel on two basement levels and is oriented to a hidden garden, which is invisible from the street level. • 31. 59 60 The Ecolighthouse™ project represents a new way of approaching contact with nature. It is not a hotel; it is profound interaction between mankind and nature. Ecolighthouse™ offers a new direction for what we call environmental lifestyle, a new way of interacting with the environment, blurring boundaries between design and tradition, architecture and landscape. The concept of Ecolighthouse™ is based on a patent-pending solution that allows different configura- tions. Each room is a duplex apartment with a living room, kitchen, bathroom, and bedroom. The project has a low environmental impact, and can be mounted in remote areas within 60 days using materials that also can be easily dismantled. The modular solution permits different architectural formalizations and different scales, but always host a limited number of guests in order to ensure a low impact on the surrounding environment. ecolighthousetm . DreamParc™ is based on a patent-pending solution that outlines an easily portable system. This solution is scalable, adaptable, and can be assembled in just a few hours no matter the conditions of the plot. Once the system has been set up, it provides a surprising township with great open common spaces and high-density, luxury private EcoSuites that are perfect for both groups and couples. One of the most important aims is to generate a luxury solution based on environmental sensitivity. DreamParc™ can be mounted and dismantled easily with no waste elements at all. • 41. The project consists of the design for the Masterplan, Concept, and Schematic of the Architecture for all of the buildings in this full township of 26.6 acres, two million sq. ft., and over 2,500 homes in South India. This township targets the "affordable market sector," with two bedroom-apartments selling for 25,000 US dollars. The project includes a diversity of housing typologies and public buildings, such as shopping areas, cinemas, health centers, and clubhouses for the community. Parking is also provided for each apartment. The project brings references to traditional Southern European architecture, an element emphasized as an important requirement in the design brief. The township brings new interpretations of such Mediterranean architecture, combining it with local Indian traditions in an innovative contemporary approach. The overall project and each of the apartments are vastu compliant, which is extremely rare in this type of large-scale development. The design also fulfills a complex phasing requirement of construction and approvals. The required high density of the development emerges around public areas and gardens, which shape the experience of the township, creating a vibrant and elegant community. 71 72 ORAGADAM Social housing. • 44. 77 78 The project is a complex urban intervention located at the heart of the financial district of Madrid. The existing urban areas around the most important buildings are old and create many problems for the movement of pedestrians. AZCA Ecopark creates a new way of understanding interrelationships. Spatial perception and circulations are prioritized over the previously chaotic public spaces of the site. This prioritization is achieved through an understanding of this urban space as a garden taking shape above the activities below ground, such as those of parking structures and retail stores, removing the preexisting architectural barriers. Like a Zen garden, this project combines the use of hardscape with water-bodies. Both elements complement and interact with the existing towers’ openings, redefining the entrances to the existing buildings with elliptically shaped gaps, which bring light to the lower levels. The overall landscaping is shaped with organic stripes of hardscape and water elements that create the unique character of the garden. The water discharged from the office towers in the area is treated with advanced natural techniques, using plants and bio-organisms to make AZCA a self-sufficient and sustainable EcoPark. azca ecopark. The building incorporates local elements to showcase the need for sensitivity toward water and water use. The building is 55,000 sq. ft. (5,000 sq. m.), and is organized around eight massing volumes marked as if by water erosion. In the interstitial spaces, skylights with water on top bright light into the plaza outside the exhibition center. This plaza becomes an essential component of the program of the building, which can host expositions and events. The geometry of the building and the use of organic structures and materials, such as brick, are repre- sentative of the traditional construction in the area, and allude to the structures used by Gaudí, the famous local architect of the 19th century, who created a new way of understanding organic architecture. 85 86 WATER MUSEUM. Helsinki, Finland. Art as Zeitgeist, as a reflection of the society and world we live in. The culture reflected in the first Guggenheim museum of the late 1940s is different from that of today. ABIBOO's vision for the Guggenheim-Helsinki is to represent today’s reality, while retaining the soul of its sister museums. Synthetic-inductive thinking offers a way to reflect reality from the bottom up. Our design takes this approach for the Guggenheim-Helsinki, while continuing the Organicism seen in the work of Wright and Gehry. However, in this case, growth occurs in a non-hierarchical order. Rather than providing a central atrium, the new museum grows non-directionally; each space has different characteristics, but holds similar importance. This fragmentation exists as a natural consequence of a synthetic-inductive process. Our design extends the theme of discontinuity from the interior spaces to the materiality of the façades, allowing it to define the relationships between spaces. The increasing barrage of inputs in our contemporary world, mainly visual in nature, has led to a greater and more urgent search for profound sensorial experiences, and for a deeper sense of community. Our design seeks to embrace this pursuit, in which Finnish culture has long been a leader. The importance of materiality and nature, social responsibility, and non-hierarchical structures has been profoundly alive in Finland for centuries. As a consequence, the proposed Guggenheim draws inspiration from Finnish culture for the creation of each individual space, especially in regards to sensorial experiences and to the project’s relationship with the landscape and environment. 91 92

The program has four classrooms, teachers’ rooms, and a conference hall. Using the existing high terrain slope at the plot to divide the program, the classrooms and teachers’ rooms are on the top floor of the building, at the same level as the rest of the classrooms of the preexisting high school. The multipurpose hall located downstairs is provided with independent access from the garden. It is proposed that the building’s façade be made up of a continuous, yellow, low-cost material in order to create a contrast with the red bricks of the surroundings. +7.80 m +3.65 m +2.80 m +2.40 m ±0.00 m -6.15 m 0 0,5 1 2 0 1 2 3 4 50 2 3 4 51 105 106 education center carlos iii. The project consisted of the extension and redevelopment of Professional Advancement and Continuing Education (PACE) Center in Kuwait. The University’s desire to modernize the entire campus, with particular emphasis on PACE interiors, allowed ABIBOO to design a dynamic and contemporary space as the landmark of the campus, conveying that excellence and elegance begin at the first step of the University, the student recruitment facilities at PACE. The idea was to give freshness to the complex and to communicate through Architecture the values of technology and innovation, which have contributed to the leadership role of GUST in such fields. 111 112 Gust pace University ProJect. The project has a series of facilities that serve the residences, as well as vast green areas, which will be connected to an urban park also planned by ABIBOO Architecture in the same plot, as per Indian legal requirements. The site is located next to the main national highway connecting the two largest cities in Southern India (Chennai and Bangalore). The project combines a number of independent blocks, articulated in two areas defined by the presence of an existing power line tower on the site, which serves as the structuring element of a large linear eco-park with innovative solutions for alternative energy resources. Spaces for social interaction are designed alongside the numerous green spaces provided in order to create a healthy living environment. Section 0 8' 16' 24' 48' ela residential project. With an open South end, the buildings are laid out to maximize natural lighting and airflow in order to create a joyful and healthy environment. Each floor has been planned on a six-flats-per-floor model. The floor plans are designed by a local team. The requirement of this project was to change the exterior design to ensure an appealing façade for the building to be approved by the local authorities, while keeping the floor plans intact. It was also important to maintain or reduce the original construction cost estimated for the development. This challenge was met by a simple strategy of fenestration that facilitated reduction in cost while giving an abstract, contemporary and international look to the towers. 123 124 lavanya. Each villa design is a reinterpretation of traditional vastu-compliant houses. The typical central patio becomes here a double-height infinity pool located on the first floor. The rest of the rooms are organized along this central monumental space, facing different directions with unobstructed views of the sea. The building massing strategy also allows double-side ventilations and self-shading, which is a critical factor in the hot weather of Southern India. The pool is presented as a perforated box that allows the light to come inside, creating a dramatic space that gives a sense of grandeur and solemnity. The program of each villa includes the common areas at the ground floor, the spaces at the first floor with direct access to the pool, and the bedrooms at the top floor. The spaces of this main floor are organized in a volume that cantilevers over this outside yard area, providing the most interesting views of the south of the plot, where most of the outside vegetation is located. The configuration of the various areas of the house correspond to the vastu philosophy that not only mark the relationship between the rooms and the orientation of the main spaces of the house, but also search for the best views and the best orientations weather-wise for each room. All of the main spaces of the villa establish a dialogue with the yard, which becomes the central element of the house. 149 150 kelly house. Chennai, India.

(6120 sq. m.) and the resulting villa has a total built up area of 48,400 sq. ft. (4500 sq. m.). The house is organized in two floors surrounding a central patio, which functions as a source of light, ventilation, and the “lungs of the gods” as per local traditions. The ground floor includes the public program for guests and visitors, the pooja room, formal and family living room, kitchen, bar, home cinema, entertainment area, and study room. The first floor hosts the library, swimming pool, its corresponding deck, and the family bedrooms, each with private terraces, which are suited to this particular climate and which form an important relationship with the landscaping. The exterior is designed such that despite the huge scale of the house, it has a compartmentalized character, making the experience closer to the human scale. This compartmentalization is achieved with white stucco volumes at the second floor, which provide a contrast to the stone-textured podium at the ground floor. The house is surrounded by a luxurious garden, which is divided in different sections with distinct character, following the same strategies as the architectural design. A service quarters is attached to the building with a similar massing strategy to ensure integration with the main house. The ground floor has the typical program associated with a villa, along with many patios that make the house look bigger due to its integration with the site. The first floor includes spaces such as offices, guest rooms, and play areas. The basement includes private spaces, such as meditation rooms, a gym, and a spa, and also social spaces, such as party areas and lounges. The secondary areas are built with an exposed concrete façade, while the day spaces in the center of the floor plan are made of stucco and glass. Finally, the night areas are shown to the outside in a metallic ventilated façade that reflects the light and creates a strong contrast between all the different materials used. • 107. “I've been involved in the financial industry in the US for over 35 years: from the Pacific to the New York Stock Exchanges; from Merrill Lynch to Standard & Poor's. Several years ago, I became acquainted with Alfredo Munoz and ABIBOO on a personal basis: I moved into an ABIBOO designed building. Over the course of those years, at my urging, Alfredo has shared with me designs of incredible architectural visions throughout the world, designed for various purposes and functions, in diverse and unique geographic settings. Amazing and breathtaking! ABIBOO's work is not just form however: it is practical application while maintaining the true spirit of the location. I know: I live in one. I also know from my financial industry experience that developed real estate should not be viewed as a ‘quick trade.’ In the case of ABIBOO’s conceived facilities, extreme care and artistry combine with the larger view, to produce legendary buildings that will stand time and temporal fads. The overwhelming impact of the completed project makes pale any rendering, and the immensity of the value created may cause a visceral reaction to consider flipping the creation. Only for a second however, as human nature will compel you to hold dear something as unique and powerful as an ABIBOO property. The value both aesthetically and monetarily will only grow as time passes. It's what we call in my business, ‘a good trade.’” David Rich Senior Director Standard & Poor's at Wall Street, New York USA “We at Gust University-Kuwait had a project; an architectural project that had to be completed for our university, this project was complex, was in the educational sector and had a lot of challenges on the time frame that had been given to it. My team and I were looking for a firm that could help us in our objectives and I selected ABIBOO Architecture and signed with them for their innovative and creative profile. After signing with them and working closely with their offices in India, United States and Spain, they achieved our expectations to our entire satisfaction and finishing the architectural project before the due date. We appreciate their work and I am looking forward to working with them again in the future.” Ebraheem Alforaih Director Mishref Campus Gulf University for Science and Technology (GUST) Kuwait “I think I am one of the most appropriate to talk about ABIBOO because I have known them for many years. We have built my dream house. I am delighted because since the day we met Alfredo and his team, we saw their passion for architecture and that is one of the things I liked the most about them, since I also felt great passion for my dream job when I was an active soccer player. Also the exclusive attention I receive from ABIBOO is very important, it is indeed essential for me. I am thrilled and happy that I met Alfredo and his team as they exceeded all the expectations that I had for my house. I believe that if I will ever build anything else again it will definitely be with ABIBOO.” Iván Helguera Former Soccer Player Real Madrid and the Spanish National Team Spain “My personal experience of working closely with the executive team of ABIBOO Architecture has been refreshing, very valuable and highly professional.
