3. WHAT IS ELECTRIC
VEHICLE?
Electric vehicle is a vehicle that
uses electricity or electric
motors to work.
In effort to save the
environment and reduce our
dependence on foreign oil, we
wanted to convert gas(petrol or
diesel) powered vehicles to
electric vehicle.
4. TYPES OF ELECTRIC VEHICLE
Hybrid Electric
Vehicle (HEV)
Plug-in-Hybrid
vehicle(PHEV)
Uses both Internal
Combustion engine and
a battery charged from
an external socket. This
means the vehicle
battery can be charged
with eletricity rather
than the engine.
BEV's are powered
entirely by electricity, it
has one or more Electric
Motors powered by a
larger onboard battery.
In this electric vehicle
electric energy is
converted into chemical
energy.
This type of vehicle
uses both the
internal combustion
such as petrol or
diesel and as well as
battery powered
motor.
Fuel Cell Electric
Vehicle (FCEV)
5. KINDS OF ELECTRIC VEHICLE
Electric Car Electric Bike
Electric Trains Electric Bus
6. Why Electric Vehicles?
The running cost of an Electric vehicle is much lower than an
equivalent petrol or diesel vehicle. EV's use electricity to
charge thier batteries instead of fossils fuels like petrol or
diesel.
EV's are the opportunity to replace fossil fuels in the
transport sector. Electrification of transport sector can also
bring benefits in terms of increased energy efficiency and
reduced local pollution.
7. More efficent
Lower Emissions
More reliable and require
lower maintenance
Lower running costs
Reduced Noise Pollution
Government Funding
ADVANTAGES
9. CHALLENGES OF ELECTRIC VEHICLE
Charging Infrastructure
Lack of Service
Supply Chain Probelms
CONCLUSION
These are the challenges that India facing in the EV market. But TATA and
Mahindra are trying to overcome this challenges.
