• Document seizure of flora and fauna in Kamdi

involvement in poaching and illegal trade of
wild animals
• Recommed possible action for addressing
wildlife crime
5. Methodology
• Area :
It covers an area of 450km2
and connects Banke NP and
Suhelwa WS in India.
• Literature review
Research and annual reports from DNPWC, DOF,
PA office, DFOs, TAL, CHAL as a part of secondary
information.

• Underlying causes of local involvement in W/L crime
(UNODC,2016)
1. Poverty and Unemployment
2. Inadequate conservation awareness
3. High market demand
4. High profit margin and quick income
5. Show off of power, pressure and greed
6. Plausible medicinal properties
7. Lapse in law enforcement
11. Conclusion
• Kamdi corridor is one of the most important
biological corridors for linking two protected areas of
Nepal and India.
• Three types of wildlife crime was found in Kamdi
complex linked with 8 types of underlying causes.
• 78 wildlife crime cases arresting 172 were registered
in diffrenet law enforcement agency of Kamdi
Complex.
12. Recommendation
• Declaration Kamdi Corridor as "Kamdi Protected
Forest" under Forest Act 2015 AD(second
amendment) has to be done.
• Strengthening of APO, CBAPU with sufficient amount
of CBAPU fund should be given due importance.
• Sensitization among wildlife community about
importance of wildlife and relief scheme.
• Stringent laws should be executed and shouldn't let
any culprits exonerate.
• Transboundary cooperation should be enhanced.
