2. ACADEMIC MAJOR PROJECT UNDERTAKEN
Project Topic - Wavelet Based Voltage Sag Characterization Method
Description - This project aids to improve single event characterization of voltage sag. This is achieved by
accurate detection of initiation of voltage sag and recovery of voltage after sag. The methods available for
characterization of voltage sag are compared. Wavelet based method has an advantage of accurate identification of
initiation and recovery points on voltage waveform. This project further proposes usage of Hybrid filters for more
accurate identification on point-on wave of voltage sag initiation and voltage recovery. Hybrid Filters reduces the
Error in computation of voltage sag.
