This study examined the relationship between marital satisfaction and communication skills among married couples. It hypothesized that there would be a positive correlation between marital satisfaction and communication. The study involved surveying 50 married couples on their interpersonal communication skills and marital satisfaction. It found that communication plays a central role in marriage and that couples with better communication skills reported higher relationship satisfaction. The study concluded that interpersonal communication skills are necessary for building strong marital bonds.

With the purpose to find that weather lack of communication is actually
responsible for the quarrels between the married couples or not.
The study carried out was basically a correlational research design which
was intended to check whether communication skills are correlated with
marital satisfaction or not.

The sample for the present study consisted of wives and husbands.
50 couples were randomly chosen.
50 husbands and 50 wives.

Age of the participants should be between 20 - 50 years.
Years of marriage of the participants were up to 30 years.
They should not have any physical or mental disability.
Couples should not be divorced or separated.

INVENTORY
The interpersonal communication inventory was used to
measure communication skills among participants.
It consist of several questions with three possible answers
(Yes, No, Sometimes).

SCALE
It is used to measure marital satisfaction of the
participants.
The questionnaire consists of 30 questions.
Each question has 3 alternatives.
Higher the score, higher the marital satisfaction.

The study revealed that, the interpersonal communication skills are

There also existed no statistical significant difference in gender, age
and years of marriage on the study variables among couples.
