Evaluation of the animation

I have chosento doa writtenreviewof myanimationprojectratherthanan oral or audio
commentary.Thisissimplybecause Ifeel Icanproduce a betterreview whenwrittenthananyother
form.The final projectswere all uploadedontothe EastNorfolkYoutube channelaswell asour
blogs.If we wantedto broadcastthe projectsto a wideraudience we couldhave sharedthemonour
personal social mediaaccounts( e.g:Facebook,Twitteretc) whichwouldallow awiderviewershipof
our projects.We gathered feedbackfromouraudience byproducingasurveytogaininformationon
theiropinionsof ourproject.We endedupaskinga 15 people tocomplete oursurveyandwe ended
up witha wide varietyof answersandopinionsonourproject.
We asked8 questionsin total whichwere:
1. Please state yourage,genderandoccupation
2. What do youthinkthe genre of the EStingis?
3. Who do youthinkthe primaryand secondaryaudience of the Esting?
4. What do youthinkthe EStingis about?
5. Qualityof the Esting
6. Fluidity
7. Visual Effects
8. Unique andwhy?
The reactionto our projectwasoverall quite positive.We receivedhelpfulfeedbackthatforthe
majoritywasquite detailedwhichaidedustounderstandwhatwe didand didn’tdowell andwhat
we couldimprove onnexttime.The surveyalsoallowedustosee whetherornotwe managedto
conveyacrossthe conceptwe had inmindand if itworkedeffectivelyornot.

From the graph we can see that the vastmajorityof people whoreviewedouranimationwere
primarilyfemale,between the agesof 16 up to 18 and above.Itappearsthat only3 malesreviewed
our animationwhose ageswere between17and 18 and above.

We receivedmixedreplieswhenwe askedwhat theythoughtthe genre wasof ourfinishedproduct
One thirdof the people didnotseemtoknow whatthe genre of the E-Stingwaswhenasked.The
othertenbelievedthatthe genre couldhave beenadventure,abstract,horror,sci-fi andAvant-
garde.We leftthisquestionopensowe couldreceive awiderof varietyof answersand reasonsas
to why.

It seemedthatthe majorityof or reviewersthoughtthatourE-Stinghadthe primarytargetaudience
of youngadults(earlytomid-20) andthe secondarytargetaudience wasteenagers.9people outof
the 15 said theythoughtthatthe primarywasyoungadultswhereasthe other6 eitherbelievedthe
primarywas teenagersorsimplydidnotknow.

We hada wide arrayof answerswhenourreviewerscame toanswerwhattheythoughtthe E-Sting
was about.One personinparticularbelieved thatthe E-Stingwasbasedonthe popularNetflix show
‘StrangerThings’andtwo people believeditwasabouthavingsuperpowersandhavingthe power
to teleport.Three people believedthatthe E-Stinghada deepermeaningandwasaboutisolation
and self-confidence orthatit wasabout someone reachinganendgoal.

We receivedawide mixtureof reviewswhenitcame tothe supposedqualityof the E-Sting.There
were several conflictingresponsesonthe lighting,some people saiditwastoodarkwhereassome
people saidthe likedthe lightingandhow darkit was.We decidedtohave darkerlightingbecause
we wantedto give aneerie feel tothe entire thing.Several people pickeduponthe fact there was
some accidental stutteringbetweenshotsalthough afew feltlike itaddedtothe eeriness.

Overall,ouranimationwasfelttobe justabove average whenitcame to how well itflowed.

3. Q7) Quite a fewof our reviewersbelievedthatthere couldbe several improvementssuchasmaking
the effectsmore sporadicandthat a fewmore visual effectswouldhave made itmore interesting.
Several othersquite likedthe effectsastheywere anddidnot offer anysuggestionof
improvements.
Q8) The majorityof people believedthatouranimationwasrelativelyunique.Some of themoffered
reasonsthat theythoughtthe filmingof itwasquite creative (the continuousjumping) whilstothers
saidthat theyenjoyedthe musicandthe overall concept.A few of ourreviewerssaidthattheydid
not thinkouranimationwasunique butdidnotoffera reasonas to why.One personinparticular
seemedquite pedanticandsaidtheycouldnot review itwithouthavingotherstocompare itto.
