MR. MARC LEROUX
Manager, Trade, Investment and Marketing Unit, Ministry of Northern Development and Mines
Raised in the shadows of the McIntyre and Hollinger headframes in Timmins, Marc is currently the
Manager of Trade and Investment Marketing at the Ontario Ministry of Northern Development and Mines
in Sudbury. Prior to his 28 years with the Ministry, Marc spent several years in grassroots mineral
exploration for Noranda and Amax Exploration in the search for base and precious metals in the Abitibi
greenstone belt of Northeastern Ontario and Northwestern Quebec and in the Central Caribou region of
British Columbia. His current responsibilities include the development and delivery of trade and investment
marketing strategies and policies to improve and market Ontario’s economic potential to the global
marketplace.
MR. AKHILESH MISHRA
Consul General of India, Toronto
Mr. Akhilesh Mishra took over as Consul General of India in Toronto on 27th August 2013. In his capacity
as the Consul General of India, Toronto, Mr. Mishra is the overall Incharge of the Consulate and looks after
India-Canada bilateral relations in various matters including commercial and economic, political matters,
consular matters including visa issues, etc. His jurisdiction extends to most of Ontario, Manitoba, New
Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and some parts of Quebec. Mr. Mishra
belongs to the Indian Foreign Service (IFS). Before arriving in Toronto, Mr. Mishra served as Joint
Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, heading the Northern Division dealing with India's relations
with Nepal and Bhutan, and Joint Secretary in charge of Multilateral Economic Relations Division.
Mr. Mishra’s previous assignments include: Deputy Chief of Mission in Kabul (Afghanistan), Deputy High
Commissioner in Dar-es-Salaam (Tanzania), Deputy Consul General in San Francisco (USA), Deputy
Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi and in different capacities in Indian Embassies in
Kathmandu (Nepal), Rome (Italy) and Lima (Peru).
Mr. Mishra holds the degrees of Bachelor of Technology and Masters of Technology in Mechanical
Engineering, both from the Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Mr. Mishra
speaks Spanish, Italian and Nepalese. Among Indian languages he knows Hindi and Sanskrit, besides
English.

MR. DHARMA P. JAIN
President, Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce
Dharma P. Jain, is 26th elected president of the Chamber and a member of the Advisory Committee of Canada’s
Chief Negotiator on Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with India.
He is well known in the Indo-Canadian community for his strong conviction in the Canadian values of
volunteerism and giving back to the community.
Under his leadership, ICCC led the four cities India Mission in January 2015 which was attended by over 50
small and medium business owners. Minister Chris Alexander, Minister Kellie Leitch, Hon Deepak Obhrai, MP
Patrick Brown, Devinder Shory and other provincial & federal leaders were also attended business meetings in
selected cities with the chamber. Dharma also took the initiative to start a Centre of Excellence for small
businesses in chamber’s newly acquired building. Dharma has turned the venerable institution into an agile
force working for bilateral relations between Canada and India, and enabling Indo-Canadians to integrate better
into the Canadian mainstream for better contribution to the fabric of the Canadian society.
Dharma is a dynamic leader and an accomplished finance professional and practicing CGA serving to medium
and small businesses in Canada and India. He has over 25 years of international experience in the financial
sector. He has expertise in structured business financing, business consulting and advisory, compliance &
assurance, business restructuring, risk management and taxation.
Dharma is member of Mississauga International Partnership Program and also sits on the Compliance Audit
Committee of City of Brampton and also serves as Vice-president of Jaipurfott.org, a charity working for
disabled. He is actively involved in mentoring new immigrants which helps them in developing professional
networks, evolving targeted job & business search strategies and enhancing understanding of Canadian
workplace culture.

MR. AJAY K. GUPTA
Mr. Gupta is a Canadian Citizen with a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification from ICAO, Canada; a Certified
Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designations from USA. He is also a fellow
member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (FCA).
Mr. Gupta has over twenty five years of international experience in the field of Corporate Finance, Corporate
Governance, and Mergers and Acquisitions. Mr. Gupta has worked with leading international and Canadian
corporations primarily with publicly traded companies.
Presently he is Chairman and CEO of Homeland Energy Group Ltd., a public company listed on TSX venture
exchange, engaged in acquisition and developing mining properties overseas. Mr. Gupta was instrumental in
listing overseas companies on TSX through RTO using CPC vehicle, raising funding for the mining projects and
merger and acquisition to create value for the shareholders.
He has worked as a CFO with African Aura Resources Ltd (TSX – AAZ) and Scandinavian Minerals Limited
(TSX – SGL), Deloitte & Touché LLP, DuPont Canada, Volvo Finance, Samara and SRK Group.
MR. RAJESH SHARMA
Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director , Tata Steel Minerals Canada
Mr. Rajesh Sharma holds an MBA (Marketing and Operations) from XLRI, Jamshedpur and an Engineering
Degree (E &C) from IIT Roorkee. He also successfully completed a scholarship program on globalization and
leadership from the London School of Economics in 2002. He has over 20 years’ experience in various
businesses with the Tata Group.
He joined Tata Steel as a Graduate Trainee in 1991 and then joined the Tata Group Management Cadre TAS
in 1998. In November 2010, he was appointed CEO & Managing Director of Tata Steel Minerals Canada. Prior
to this post, Mr. Sharma was Executive in Charge, Southern Africa for Tata Steel responsible for new
investments and acquisitions in mining and minerals related to the steel industry.
Mr. Sharma has diverse cross functional and cross industry experience within the Tata Group. He has
worked in the areas of international investments and acquisitions in steel, mining and other businesses,
heading global business unit, strategic planning, business excellence, TQM, HR, IT, Corporate Affairs,
Project Management, Maintenance Management, Marketing and Sales.

MR. ROD THOMAS
President, Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC)
Throughout his career, Rod has worked in mineral exploration and development in both the senior and junior
mining sectors as an exploration geologist and executive. Rod is a strong advocate of the mineral exploration
and development industry as a primary driver of wealth creation in Canada and around the world.
Rod initially became involved with the PDAC as a volunteer with the Convention Committee in the early 1990s
and eventually chaired the convention during the rapid growth period of 2006 to 2008. Since becoming a
director in 2006, Rod has also served on the Audit Committee, sits on the Executive Committee and is a
member of the Awards Committee. Rod was elected as Second Vice President in 2010 and is now President
of the Association for the 2014 to 2016 term.
Rod received his undergraduate degree in Earth Sciences from McGill University, followed by an Applied
Master of Science degree from Queen’s University. After finishing his postgraduate education in geology in the
late 1970s, Rod worked in mineral exploration for several major mining companies, including Urangesellschaft,
SMDC (now Cameco), Utah Mines and BHP (now BHP‐Billiton).
After leaving BHP, Rod worked in the junior sector in various senior roles in both technical and executive
capacities and returned to the senior mining sector in 2008 and is currently General Manager and Director of
Votorantim Metals Canada Inc., a subsidiary of Votorantim Metais, which is part of the Votorantim Group of
Brazil.
Rod lives in the Toronto area and is married to Peggy and together they have three adult children Aislinn,
Zachary and Kaitlin.

MR. CARLOS ESPINOSA
Head of Business Development, Global Mining, Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and TSX Venture
Exchange (TSXV)
Carlos Espinosa, Head of Business Development, Global Mining at Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and TSX
Venture Exchange (TSXV). Mr. Espinosa is responsible for the development and execution of the Exchanges
strategy for attracting new listings in the mining sector as well as increase the investor’s base.
Prior to join the Toronto Stock Exchange, Mr. Espinosa worked for over four years as Managing Director at
SoftLanding Group Mexico, Inc. a boutique firm dedicated to assist Canadian companies establishing
operations in Mexico, as well as Latin American companies doing business in Canada. Mr. Espinosa is
co-founder of SoftLanding Group Mexico.
From 1999 to 2008 he was posted as Deputy Trade Commissioner of Mexico in Toronto promoting trade and
Investment between the two countries, mainly focused on advanced manufacturing and mining.
Mr. Espinosa earned an M.B.A. from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a
Bachelor of Business Administration from “Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico”.
MR. GUY RACINE
Senior Account Manager, Export Development Canada
Guy has been with the EDC for 22 years. He started his career in the financing group and then moved to
business development where today he covers Ottawa and Northern Ontario. Other than EDC, Guy has
worked for Canadian financial institutions. He holds an MBA from HEC in Montreal.

MR. S. KARUNAKAR RAO (KK)
President, Datacode International
S. Karunakar Rao (KK) is an entrepreneur who started Datacode in 1997. Datacode has been providing
consulting services, technology and software for exploration and mining industry in India by sourcing from
Canada and other countries. He has established strong relationship with Ontario based Geosoft for over last
14+ years. A regular at PDAC, he has been awarded Technology Champion Award by Pitney Bowes for
EMEA region in year 2013.
Under his leadership Datacode has been conducting training and skill development courses for Indian
Exploration Industry and have established a JV with Indian Institute of Engineer (AP chapter) to conduct
courses for Mining Industry at Hyderabad. Datacode is driven with the motto of Global Solution for local needs.
This belief has made Datacode a strong service and solution provider in Indian market.
A Pioneer in developing technology and service market in India he has a deep understanding of how to do
business. He is a professional statistician but has been servicing Exploration sector in India and abroad for last
20 years.
DR. SCOTT JOBIN-BEVANS
Chairman and CEO and a Founding Partner of Caracle Creek International Consulting, Inc.
Dr. Scott Jobin-Bevans is Chairman and CEO and a Founding Partner of Caracle Creek International
Consulting, Inc., a Canadian based international geological, geophysical and mining services company with
several offices in Canada (Vancouver, Toronto, Sudbury) and in Johannesburg, South Africa.
Involved in the mineral exploration industry since 1988, Scott has experience in planning and managing
exploration projects from early stage through advanced exploration. He is a Technical Advisor and on the
Board of a number of private and public companies.
Dr. Jobin-Bevans has worked around the world with experience in property valuation/evaluation, resource
modeling/interpretation and NI43-101 reporting. He has held a number of volunteer positions with mineral
exploration and mining associations including the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada where
he was President from 2010 to 2012.
Scott has made several trips to India, representing the PDAC, Caracle Creek and more recently working with
the Canadian Trade Commissioner in Kolkata to promote Canadian mineral exploration and mining
technologies and skills. Recently, Caracle Creek signed an Association Agreement with Indian based
Maheshwari Mining Private Limited and is looking forward to partnering on projects in India.
Scott received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the University of Manitoba and his Ph.D. from the University of
Western Ontario. In 2013, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of his
contribution as a volunteer in the Canadian minerals industry.

MR. MAHENDRA PANDYA

Mahendra Pandya is President & CEO of Ambashi Engineering & Management Inc. He is a member of
the Professional Engineers of Ontario, Alberta & Manitoba. He is also a member of the Project
Management Institute.
He is well-known in the mining industry in Northern Ontario for his strong relationships with
communities.
Mahendra is the PEO for the Kapuskasing-Timmins chapter and has served three term s as an

MARC LEROUX Manager, Trade, Investment and Marketing Unit, Ministry of Northern Development and Mines Raised in the shadows of the McIntyre and Hollinger headframes in Timmins, Marc is currently the Manager of Trade and Investment Marketing at the Ontario Ministry of Northern Development and Mines in Sudbury. Prior to his 28 years with the Ministry, Marc spent several years in grassroots mineral exploration for Noranda and Amax Exploration in the search for base and precious metals in the Abitibi greenstone belt of Northeastern Ontario and Northwestern Quebec and in the Central Caribou region of British Columbia. His current responsibilities include the development and delivery of trade and investment marketing strategies and policies to improve and market Ontario’s economic potential to the global marketplace. MR. AKHILESH MISHRA Consul General of India, Toronto Mr. Akhilesh Mishra took over as Consul General of India in Toronto on 27th August 2013. In his capacity as the Consul General of India, Toronto, Mr. Mishra is the overall Incharge of the Consulate and looks after India-Canada bilateral relations in various matters including commercial and economic, political matters, consular matters including visa issues, etc. His jurisdiction extends to most of Ontario, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Prince Edward Island, Newfoundland and some parts of Quebec. Mr. Mishra belongs to the Indian Foreign Service (IFS). Before arriving in Toronto, Mr. Mishra served as Joint Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, heading the Northern Division dealing with India's relations with Nepal and Bhutan, and Joint Secretary in charge of Multilateral Economic Relations Division. Mr. Mishra’s previous assignments include: Deputy Chief of Mission in Kabul (Afghanistan), Deputy High Commissioner in Dar-es-Salaam (Tanzania), Deputy Consul General in San Francisco (USA), Deputy Secretary in the Ministry of External Affairs, New Delhi and in different capacities in Indian Embassies in Kathmandu (Nepal), Rome (Italy) and Lima (Peru). Mr. Mishra holds the degrees of Bachelor of Technology and Masters of Technology in Mechanical Engineering, both from the Indian Institute of Technology, Banaras Hindu University (BHU). Mr. Mishra speaks Spanish, Italian and Nepalese. Among Indian languages he knows Hindi and Sanskrit, besides English.
  • 8. SPEAKER BIOs MR. DHARMA P. JAIN President, Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce Dharma P. Jain, is 26th elected president of the Chamber and a member of the Advisory Committee of Canada’s Chief Negotiator on Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) with India. He is well known in the Indo-Canadian community for his strong conviction in the Canadian values of volunteerism and giving back to the community. Under his leadership, ICCC led the four cities India Mission in January 2015 which was attended by over 50 small and medium business owners. Minister Chris Alexander, Minister Kellie Leitch, Hon Deepak Obhrai, MP Patrick Brown, Devinder Shory and other provincial & federal leaders were also attended business meetings in selected cities with the chamber. He has over 25 years of international experience in the financial sector. He has expertise in structured business financing, business consulting and advisory, compliance & assurance, business restructuring, risk management and taxation. Dharma is member of Mississauga International Partnership Program and also sits on the Compliance Audit Committee of City of Brampton and also serves as Vice-president of Jaipurfott.org, a charity working for disabled. GUPTA Mr. Gupta is a Canadian Citizen with a Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification from ICAO, Canada; a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designations from USA. He is also a fellow member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (FCA). Mr. Gupta has over twenty five years of international experience in the field of Corporate Finance, Corporate Governance, and Mergers and Acquisitions. Mr. Gupta has worked with leading international and Canadian corporations primarily with publicly traded companies. Presently he is Chairman and CEO of Homeland Energy Group Ltd., a public company listed on TSX venture exchange, engaged in acquisition and developing mining properties overseas. Mr. Gupta was instrumental in listing overseas companies on TSX through RTO using CPC vehicle, raising funding for the mining projects and merger and acquisition to create value for the shareholders. He has worked as a CFO with African Aura Resources Ltd (TSX – AAZ) and Scandinavian Minerals Limited (TSX – SGL), Deloitte & Touché LLP, DuPont Canada, Volvo Finance, Samara and SRK Group. MR. RAJESH SHARMA Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director , Tata Steel Minerals Canada Mr. Rajesh Sharma holds an MBA (Marketing and Operations) from XLRI, Jamshedpur and an Engineering Degree (E &C) from IIT Roorkee. He also successfully completed a scholarship program on globalization and leadership from the London School of Economics in 2002. He has over 20 years’ experience in various businesses with the Tata Group. He joined Tata Steel as a Graduate Trainee in 1991 and then joined the Tata Group Management Cadre TAS in 1998. In November 2010, he was appointed CEO & Managing Director of Tata Steel Minerals Canada. Prior to this post, Mr. Sharma was Executive in Charge, Southern Africa for Tata Steel responsible for new investments and acquisitions in mining and minerals related to the steel industry. Mr. Sharma has diverse cross functional and cross industry experience within the Tata Group. He has worked in the areas of international investments and acquisitions in steel, mining and other businesses, heading global business unit, strategic planning, business excellence, TQM, HR, IT, Corporate Affairs, Project Management, Maintenance Management, Marketing and Sales.

ROD THOMAS President, Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) Throughout his career, Rod has worked in mineral exploration and development in both the senior and junior mining sectors as an exploration geologist and executive. Rod is a strong advocate of the mineral exploration and development industry as a primary driver of wealth creation in Canada and around the world. Rod initially became involved with the PDAC as a volunteer with the Convention Committee in the early 1990s and eventually chaired the convention during the rapid growth period of 2006 to 2008. Since becoming a director in 2006, Rod has also served on the Audit Committee, sits on the Executive Committee and is a member of the Awards Committee. Rod was elected as Second Vice President in 2010 and is now President of the Association for the 2014 to 2016 term. Rod received his undergraduate degree in Earth Sciences from McGill University, followed by an Applied Master of Science degree from Queen’s University. After finishing his postgraduate education in geology in the late 1970s, Rod worked in mineral exploration for several major mining companies, including Urangesellschaft, SMDC (now Cameco), Utah Mines and BHP (now BHP‐Billiton). After leaving BHP, Rod worked in the junior sector in various senior roles in both technical and executive capacities and returned to the senior mining sector in 2008 and is currently General Manager and Director of Votorantim Metals Canada Inc., a subsidiary of Votorantim Metais, which is part of the Votorantim Group of Brazil. Rod lives in the Toronto area and is married to Peggy and together they have three adult children Aislinn, Zachary and Kaitlin.

CARLOS ESPINOSA Head of Business Development, Global Mining, Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV) Carlos Espinosa, Head of Business Development, Global Mining at Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and TSX Venture Exchange (TSXV). Mr. Espinosa is responsible for the development and execution of the Exchanges strategy for attracting new listings in the mining sector as well as increase the investor’s base. Prior to join the Toronto Stock Exchange, Mr. Espinosa worked for over four years as Managing Director at SoftLanding Group Mexico, Inc. a boutique firm dedicated to assist Canadian companies establishing operations in Mexico, as well as Latin American companies doing business in Canada. Mr. Espinosa is co-founder of SoftLanding Group Mexico. From 1999 to 2008 he was posted as Deputy Trade Commissioner of Mexico in Toronto promoting trade and Investment between the two countries, mainly focused on advanced manufacturing and mining. Mr. Espinosa earned an M.B.A. from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from “Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico”. MR. GUY RACINE Senior Account Manager, Export Development Canada Guy has been with the EDC for 22 years. He started his career in the financing group and then moved to business development where today he covers Ottawa and Northern Ontario. Other than EDC, Guy has worked for Canadian financial institutions. He holds an MBA from HEC in Montreal.

He has established strong relationship with Ontario based Geosoft for over last 14+ years. A regular at PDAC, he has been awarded Technology Champion Award by Pitney Bowes for EMEA region in year 2013. Under his leadership Datacode has been conducting training and skill development courses for Indian Exploration Industry and have established a JV with Indian Institute of Engineer (AP chapter) to conduct courses for Mining Industry at Hyderabad. Datacode is driven with the motto of Global Solution for local needs. This belief has made Datacode a strong service and solution provider in Indian market. A Pioneer in developing technology and service market in India he has a deep understanding of how to do business. He is a professional statistician but has been servicing Exploration sector in India and abroad for last 20 years. DR. SCOTT JOBIN-BEVANS Chairman and CEO and a Founding Partner of Caracle Creek International Consulting, Inc. Dr. Scott Jobin-Bevans is Chairman and CEO and a Founding Partner of Caracle Creek International Consulting, Inc., a Canadian based international geological, geophysical and mining services company with several offices in Canada (Vancouver, Toronto, Sudbury) and in Johannesburg, South Africa. Involved in the mineral exploration industry since 1988, Scott has experience in planning and managing exploration projects from early stage through advanced exploration. He is a Technical Advisor and on the Board of a number of private and public companies. Dr. Jobin-Bevans has worked around the world with experience in property valuation/evaluation, resource modeling/interpretation and NI43-101 reporting. He has held a number of volunteer positions with mineral exploration and mining associations including the Prospectors and Developers Association of Canada where he was President from 2010 to 2012. Scott has made several trips to India, representing the PDAC, Caracle Creek and more recently working with the Canadian Trade Commissioner in Kolkata to promote Canadian mineral exploration and mining technologies and skills. Recently, Caracle Creek signed an Association Agreement with Indian based Maheshwari Mining Private Limited and is looking forward to partnering on projects in India. Scott received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the University of Manitoba and his Ph.D. from the University of Western Ontario. In 2013, he was awarded the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal in recognition of his contribution as a volunteer in the Canadian minerals industry.
