• Credit Cards – Cheques - Cash
• Easy for everyone to make a payment
• Receipts sent by email
• Easy to track the payments
• Free Software, free Square readers
• Fees - pay as you go – nothing ongoing
• free for cash/cheques
• 2.75% for VISA, VISA Debit, MasterCard, American Express
and deposit made to bank account in 1-2 business days

4. Square Items
• Can track sales of different items which have
different tax codes
• British Columbia, Canada – taxes 2015
• Raffle tickets - exempt
• Liquor tickets – PST liquor tax 10%
• Silent/Live Auction – PST 7% or exempt
• Products – PST 7% + possibly GST 5%

5. Square – Set-up
• Administrator – can change all settings
• Set up with the email where other accounting/financial
information goes
• Mobile Staff - (Volunteer) can take payments and
can be authorized to issue refunds or not
• Create free Gmail account for all volunteers/mobile staff
to use

6. Square – Set-up
Square Settings
• Time cut off for sales - set this to be one hour after your
event/day ends to ensure the reporting is all together
• Items – ensure correct tax codes are set up, tax inclusive
prices are best
