2. Dust of Snow
The way a crow
Shook down on me
The dust of snow
From a hemlocktree
Has given my heart
A change of mood
And saved some part
Of a day I had rued
3. This poemhas an appalling approach and
skills that can be justified only by reading
the title of poem. 'Dust of Snow', title itself
contains the beauty and crust of human
nature; signifies the importance of
difference and collaboration of varies
elements in a same package what we call
'Life'. The blackcrow is commonly a symbol
of death and fear.“Thewayacrow”
4. In this poem the poet is trying to tell us that our life is full
of problems. But there is the solution of every problemso
we should not waste our time in regret.Instead of that we
should alwaystry to get out of the problem by making some
smallefforts like the crow inthis poem which is trying to
remove the snow from the tree. Since the crowis not
associatedwith goodness, it is ironicthat in this poem, it is
doinga good deedbyshakingoff the snow.

5. Robert Frost didn’t choose to use an oak, maple
or pine tree. No, instead he chose the hemlock
tree which is usually associated with poison and
toxicity. The beautiful snow that adorns the
poisonous hemlock tree’s branches is shaken off
by a scary crow.
“Fromahemlocktree”
6. Robert Frost uses the elements of thefearsome crow
and poisonous Hemlocktreeto do something good –
shake the white, pure snowoff the branches. This
good act lifts thesuicidal person’s spirits causing him
to change his mind about killing himself. The small
act causes the man to have an enlightenedinsight.

7. Rued, according to the dictionary, means: “To feel
regret, repentance, pity, remorse,or sorrow for.”
However, Rue is also a plant that is cultivated for its
use medicinally. There is a bit of irony herethat
Robert Frost refersto the poisonous Hemlockand the
medicinal Rue.

8. Definitely in this poem werealize that
life is not always happiness, sometimes
we do have to put up with some things
in our life, but that does not mean that
it’s the end. We just need a little
positive action to help us get back at
our feet and be okay again.
