foreign.
Sometimes immune
system recognize the
cancer cells , but
not be strong enough
fight with them.

that keep the

in check.

MONOCLONAL ANTIBODIES
Normally, Immune
system Attacks
foreign substances
by making large
number of
difference
antibodies.
Many copies of a
specific antibodies
can be made in
the lab.
These are known
as monoclonal
antibodies.
These antibodies
can be useful in
fighting diseases
because they can
be designed
specifically to only
target a certain
antigen.

Goal is treat
cancer or to help
prevent it from
coming back after
treatments
Vaccines uses
cancer cells parts
of cells ,or pure
antigens to
increase the
immune response
against cancer
cells that are
already in the
body.
Vaccine are often
combined with
other substances
or cells called
adjuvants that
help boost the
immune response
even further.

They simulate the immune
system in a very general
way ,but this may still
result in more activity
against cancer cells.

IMMUNE CHECKPOINT THERAPY
A type of drug that blocks
certain proteins made by
some types of immune
system cells, such as T cells,
and some cancer cells.
These proteins help
keep immune
responses in check
and can keep T cells
from killing cancer
cells.
When these proteins
are blocked, the
“brakes” on the
immune system are
released and T cells
are able to kill
cancer cells better.
