Key Responsibilities Delivered
 Formulated unified Building Byelaws for Municipal Towns of the State in
1997 and updation of Building Byelaws from time to time as per the
changed requirements to cope up with the changed circumstances and
technologies.
 Formulated Advertisement Byelaws.
 Formulated Policies on installation of Telecommunication Infrastructure.
 Formulated Master Plan of NayaGaon :-
o Took the responsibility of formulation of Master Plan of NayaGaon,
precariously located in the vicinity of the Capitol Complex, Lake & forest
and 50% of the area already built unauthorizedly in leapfrog fashion.
o Got the Existing Land Use Plan prepared, after survey got the ground
truthing done.
o Formulated the Master Plan of NayaGaon and after following due legal
procedure as required under the Punjab Regional and Town Planning
and Development Act, 1995 got approved from the PRTPD Board and
notified under the PRTPD Act, 1995, in a span of less than seven
months.
o Formulated the Zonal Development Plans of two Zones out of five of the
Master Plan of NayaGaon.
 Regional surveys / studies for the preparation of Development Plans for the
following towns:-
o Barotiwala
o Parwanoo
o Paonta Sahib
o Solan
 Planning for New Capital Complex at PanthaGhati, Shimla
 Delineation of ReckongPeo Planning Area.
 Environmental Improvement Scheme for the following towns:-
o Solan
o Nalagarh
o ReckongPeo
o Shimla
 Enforcement of Development Controls in Shimla Planning Area.
 Integrated Development Plan for Airport Complex at JubbarHatti, Shimla.
 Integrated Development Programme for ReckongPeo Township.
 Advised Urban Local Bodies regarding formulation of Town Planning
Schemes under the Municipal Acts.
 Advised Improvement Trusts regarding formulation of Development
Schemes under the Punjab Town Improvement Act.
 Facilitated Government in approval of Town Planning Schemes and
Development Schemes.
 Advised Govt. on the matters relating to amendment and Change of Land
Use in the notified Schemes proposed by various Urban Local Bodies
under the Municipal Acts and PTI Act.
 Rendered advice to the Competent Authorities regarding Change of Land
Use under the provisions of PRTPD Act, 1995.
 Analyzed the Master Plans prepared by the Housing and Urban
Development Department & other Consultants as far as the municipal
areas are concerned and identified various non-implementable proposals /
provisions including non feasible road networks which were considered by
the PRTPD Board & permitted the modifications in the Master Plans.
 Nodal Officer for the National Urban Information System (NUIS) Scheme of
the Ministry of Urban Development, Government of India for mapping / GIS
database generation for six Towns of the State viz Amritsar, Jalandhar,
Ludhiana, Patiala, Bathinda and Pathankot for Master Plan formulation at
1:10000 scale, for Zonal Plan formulation at 1:2000 scale and for Utility
mapping at 1:1000 scale.
 Nodal Officer of the Local Government Department for Regulatory
clearances & Fiscal Incentives to the Projects in the Punjab Bureau of
Investment Promotion (PBIP).
