Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) for Off Road Vehicle Industrial Project
Team size: 15
Duration: June, 2015 to Present
Role in project: Contribution in CAN development and testing, on bench and real time testing of
EPAS, analysis and validation of field faults
Description: Aim of this project is to develop Electric Power Assisted Steering (EPAS) with brushed DC
Motor for Off Road Vehicles. EPAS helps drivers steer by augmenting steering effort of the steering
wheel. Electric actuators add controlled energy to the steering mechanism, so the driver can provide less
effort to turn the steered wheels when driving at typical speeds, and reduce considerably the physical
effort necessary to turn the wheels when a vehicle is stopped or moving slowly. The Automotive
Communication Protocol used in this project is SAE J1939 in order to make the communication between
ECUs present in the vehicle and to make diagnostic easy in case of any faults or failure of a system.
Electronic Power Assisted Steering for Passenger Vehicle Industrial Project
Team size: 15
Duration: June, 2015 to Present
Role in project: Contribution in CAN development and testing, on bench and real time testing of

Development of Regenerative Braking System for Hybrid Vehicle Academic Project
Team size: 1
Duration: 15th Dec, 2014 to 15th Jun, 2015
Description: Aim of this project is to develop mathematical model of regenerative braking system in
MATLAB Simulink environment using Induction Motor (IM) and Permanent Magnet Synchronous
Motor (PMSM). It also include comparison of a result with conventional braking system and to
maximize State of Charge of a battery by 3% to 5% so that there will be increase in fuel efficiency and
reduction in carbon foot print.
Anti-Pinch Mechanism for Power Windows Research Project
Team size: 2
Duration: July 2014 to Nov 2014
Role in project: Hardware Assembly, testing and documentation
Description: Aim of this project is to save individual from getting injured due to inadvertent use of
power window of a vehicle. In order to achieve this we measured travelling distance of glass of a
window and detect the object trapped based on the measured traveling distance. In order to measure
traveling distance of glass of a window we used an Ultrasonic Sensor HC – SR04.
Vehicle Identification and Speed Detection System Academic Project
Team size: 6
Duration: Dec 2010 to May 2011
Role in project: Contribution in Embedded C programming, hardware assembly, testing and
documentation
Description: Aim of this project is to measure the speed of a vehicle on highway itself and to identify
vehicle by collecting information such as vehicle registration number, name of owner, etc. using Zigbee
communication protocol.
