Final Project Requirements 
 Each student will work on one topic of the final project 
 Submission includes an article with pictures and video 
 Article should be posted on matcitsupport.org 
 Video should be uploaded on to youtube and embedded into the article 
 Each student will be responsible for the following deliverables: 
1. Create a 1700 – 2000 word article which would describe your action plan for the 
selected topic. 
2. Take pictures for the article and include them into the post 
3. Post article on matcitsupport.org 
4. Create a 5-7 minute marketing video, demonstrating hands on work related to 
the specific topic. Review video with the instructor. Post video on youtube. 
5. Embed video and pictures created into the article 
6. Work with the instructor to submit required assignments for each milestone 
7. Follow review schedule for submissions
Final Project Topics 
 Make sure to cover following topics: 
 Why would you like to start your business? Benefits of the repair for society, for community, for people, 
for yourself. 
 Financial Plan – how are you planning to earn money? What are the services you are planning to provide 
for the customers? 
 What are the tools you can use for the repair of mobile devices? What are the techniques you can use 
for the repair 
 How are you going to marketing for your business? 
 How are you planning to do customer service for your business? 
 How are you planning to source parts? 
 How are you planning to manage inventory and automate financial reporting? 
 Data Protection and liability in the device repair business 
 Software repairs of mobile devices – what does technician need to know? 
 What are the critical success factors to excel in business? 
 How to promote your Mobile Device Repair business using web site, social media and other channels 
 Step by step transition from student life to opening your own business

Action Plan article guidelines 
 Every student selects one topic 
 Jointly class creates a business plan, covering all required 
topics

Final Project Video guidelines: 
 Create two 5-7 min videos with quality audio related to 
Mobile Device Repair, describing specific repair you have 
performed. 
 Target audience – people looking to repair mobile devices 
and new to the topic. Start with the basics and assume 
audience has very limited knowledge on the topic. 
Promote MATC IT Computer Support project 
 Ensure quality audio for the video is captured 
 Video should be helpful and informative to the target 
audience
Guidelines for the Final Project: 
 Projects will be done in the teams, but each student will be responsible and will be 
graded for his/her own individual submission 
 Backup for the video should be submitted to insturctor: 
 Final videos should be created in MP4 format and have quality audio. 
 Audio recordings could be done separately from the video recordings and merged for the 
final video 
 Add additional titles and emphasize important points as part of the video 
 Describe the topic as mixture of slides and hands on demonstrations, if applicable 
 Edit video using free tools to insert helpful information for the end user as title on 
the captured video 
 Students will publish Videos on youtube as public and provide link, pictures and step 
by step instructions to the instructor. Instructor will publish videos on 
matcitsupport.org under student projects, based on information provided 
 Source files for the videos would need to be provided to the instructor
Timeline for the project 
 Week 3: Select the topic for your final presentation 
 Week 4: Create a draft of the article in WordPress and submit 
outline 
 Week 5: Take pictures for the article in the classroom 
 Week 6. Create a small test video and submit it on youtube 
 Week 7. Review draft of the article with instructor 
 Week 8. Review 2. Submit for review updated version of the article 
with instructor 
 Week 9. Review 2. Submit for review updated version of the video 
 Week 10. Review 3. Submit updated version of the video and article 
 Week 11. Review 4 submission 
 Week 15. Final Project Submission

How to work on your final project 
 Select topics for your final project 
 During the lab time in the class learn the equipment necessary. 
 Learn and master the topic you have selected for the Final Project 
 Work with your team partner to divide and conquer 
 Do some work every week during the semester 
 Record one presentation and complete all editing. Submit for review. Learn from the 
mistakes. Re-record and re-submit again 
 Ask advice from others. Share your knowledge with others 
 Learn from the mistakes and move forward 
 Show your creativity and have fun 
Good luck with the project. Everybody wants you to be successful.

Mobile device repair course at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC) - Fnal project overview

Final Project Requirements  Each student will work on one topic of the final project  Submission includes an article with pictures and video  Article should be posted on matcitsupport.org  Video should be uploaded on to youtube and embedded into the article  Each student will be responsible for the following deliverables: 1. Create a 1700 – 2000 word article which would describe your action plan for the selected topic. 2. Take pictures for the article and include them into the post 3. Post article on matcitsupport.org 4. Create a 5-7 minute marketing video, demonstrating hands on work related to the specific topic. Review video with the instructor. Post video on youtube. 5. Embed video and pictures created into the article 6. Work with the instructor to submit required assignments for each milestone 7. Follow review schedule for submissions
  • 4. Final Project Topics  Make sure to cover following topics:  Why would you like to start your business? Benefits of the repair for society, for community, for people, for yourself.  Financial Plan – how are you planning to earn money? What are the services you are planning to provide for the customers?  What are the tools you can use for the repair of mobile devices? What are the techniques you can use for the repair  How are you going to marketing for your business?  How are you planning to do customer service for your business?  How are you planning to source parts?  How are you planning to manage inventory and automate financial reporting?  Data Protection and liability in the device repair business  Software repairs of mobile devices – what does technician need to know?  What are the critical success factors to excel in business?  How to promote your Mobile Device Repair business using web site, social media and other channels  Step by step transition from student life to opening your own business  Please review sample business plans below (multi-page document. Final Project Video guidelines:  Create two 5-7 min videos with quality audio related to Mobile Device Repair, describing specific repair you have performed.  Target audience – people looking to repair mobile devices and new to the topic. Start with the basics and assume audience has very limited knowledge on the topic. Promote MATC IT Computer Support project  Ensure quality audio for the video is captured  Video should be helpful and informative to the target audience

Guidelines for the Final Project:  Projects will be done in the teams, but each student will be responsible and will be graded for his/her own individual submission  Backup for the video should be submitted to insturctor:  Final videos should be created in MP4 format and have quality audio.  Audio recordings could be done separately from the video recordings and merged for the final video  Add additional titles and emphasize important points as part of the video  Describe the topic as mixture of slides and hands on demonstrations, if applicable  Edit video using free tools to insert helpful information for the end user as title on the captured video  Students will publish Videos on youtube as public and provide link, pictures and step by step instructions to the instructor. Instructor will publish videos on matcitsupport.org under student projects, based on information provided  Source files for the videos would need to be provided to the instructor

How to work on your final project  Select topics for your final project  During the lab time in the class learn the equipment necessary.  Learn and master the topic you have selected for the Final Project  Work with your team partner to divide and conquer  Do some work every week during the semester  Record one presentation and complete all editing. Submit for review. Learn from the mistakes. Re-record and re-submit again  Ask advice from others. Share your knowledge with others  Learn from the mistakes and move forward  Show your creativity and have fun Good luck with the project. Everybody wants you to be successful.
