3. Early Years
The exact date of Titian’s birth was
unknown.Titian’s father was a counselor and
soldier. Many relatives,including Titian’s
grandfather was notaries.
When Titian was 12, he and his brother
Francesco were sent to an uncle in Venice to
learn with an artist. The Minor painter
Sebastian Zuccato, His sons became famous
mosaicists, and who have a friend that
arranged for the brothers to enter the studio of
Gentile Bellini. There Titian found some friend
of his age. His older brother later became an
painter.
4. Maturit

During the period of 1516-1530, Titian moved on from his
Giorgionesque style, he painted more complex subjects.
Giorgione died in 1510 and Giovanni Bellini in 1516, leaving
Titian more unrivaled in the Venetian School. Now Titian started
to paint the famous artworks by today.

5. Final Years
During the last 26 years of life, Titian worked mainly for Philip II as an portrait
painter. He finished many copies that his pupils made of his earlier works.
For Philip II,he painted a series of mythological paintings (also known as
“poesies”) , mostly from Ovid.
The “poesies” series contained the following work:
Venus and Adonis
Danaë, both sent to Philip in 1553.
Diana and Actaeon
Diana and Callisto, were transmitted in 1559
Perseus and Andromeda, now damaged
The Rape of Europa (Boston, Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum),
delivered in 1562
The Death of Actaeon, begun in 1559 but worked on for many years and
never completed
