1. Two-person scene
The Film star wars (a new hope)
In this scene Darth Vader interrogates a rebel captain for information on the
death star plans, this scene shows the dominance of Darth Vader and sets
him up as the main villain for the movie.
The colour scheme on Darth Vader shows that he is a villain, this is shown
by the black costume and mask that is designed to look menacing, the black
is commonly used to represent fear in films this can be seen on the dark
knight as when batman wears his black suit its to bring fear to criminals and
when Darth Vader wears it that is to bring fear to everyone.
This scene shows that Darth Vader is the one in control this is shows by his
high stature and how he is holding the rebel captain up to his height and
level, choking him for information. The rebel captain is wearing grey and
brown colours and this represents the contrast between him and Vader and
how they are on different sides. The storm troopers are wearing white which
is usually representative of neutrality and this can be seen in this scene
where the storm troopers are stood with guns at arms but not getting
involved with the conflict.
