- Thank-You For Invitation and Opportunity. I was flattered to get the invite and it’s a real privilege to be up here. I realize that there is a broad spectrum of knowledge in this room. From those who know very little to many who know much more than me. The beginning of the presentation is aimed at beginners and we’ll gradually tackle more Drone Mapping is a Tool. It’s a fair weather tool at best. But powerful tool. I believe there’s a place is almost every survey organization for drones. Three Parts Beginner > How to Start a Drone Program Intermediate > Accuracy Advanced > LiDAR / Other Sensors and Beyond Visual Line of Sight All that in about 40 minutes. So that we have lot os time for Q&A or to get you out so you can socialize / network!

- REPLACE THE PHOTO! Resolution – GSD tie to altitude of course. I find the 3x gsd not very helpful. Camera – Flight Parameters – front overlap / side overlap / camera angle / altitude
- Hardware & Cost DJI L1 is the sweet spot for topographic survey. For super precise work or powerline look at RIEGL or other precise systems Accuracy Generally like photogrammetry ie. 5-10cm but we can get point through most of the vegetation. Vegetation Generally not powering through vegetation, but hoping to find a gap between Do’s Higher overlap Co-collect imagery and liDAR Strip Align Clip the ends of your flight lines Don’ts Fly too high (or too low) Use terrain following Don’t forget GCPs and Check Shots
