3. Prague City Gallery – introduction of institution
• founded in 1963, specialization: modern and contemporary art – mainly
Czech art (20.+21. century)
• 7 buildings + external archives
• collections of drawings, paintings, photography and graphics - about
16 000 artefacts
• collection of sculptures + installations in public space - about 400 sculpt.
• collection of artefacts created by František Bílek, Slav Epic by Alfons
Mucha
• cca 60 zaměstnanců, 7 oddělení

25. Communication and integration, development and context
- integration of foreigners is important part of activities of Prague City
gallery for many years (during last 18 years it´s very intensive)
- specialists (external lectors) for guided tours in different languages
- printed guides and brochures in various languages
- workshops and art activities - "art is an international (universal)
language" (this communication through visual art is very easy to
understand)
- art is the best way for foreigner visitors and children to join the
collective and to communicate – so it´s the best way for integration
- cooperation with the Department of National Minorities and Foreigners
of the Prague City Hall - support, consultation, promotion of events,
networking - for many years + cooperation with other similar
organizations
- since 2014 (9 years) activities for children from Ukraine (children who
lost their parents during the R-U conflict in the east of Ukraine) – summer
and winter camps – big experiences with this topic
