A proactive, energetic and thorough Communications Engineering Manager and Quality Manager
with strong management abilities gained through a broad military career from serving in both the Army
and now the Royal Air Force. A dynamic professional with 30 years wide ranging and full experience of

Professional Experience
Quality Management System Coordinator 2011 – Present
• Posted on promotion to the role of Quality System Coordinator for RAF Honington ensuring that
the stated Quality Policy for the Station is maintained and complied with in line with RAF Policy
Publications and ISO 9001:2008.
• Required to review all Internal and Self Audits and responding to and resolving the findings from
External Quality Audits & Management Checks and the management of all Non-compliance
Reports to conclusion.
• A qualified and experienced Auditor and Audit Team Leader auditing all elements of Engineering
and Logistics across the Station including Ground Radio, Radar, Weapons Maintenance and IT
iHub facilities.
• Attended and passed an IRCA accredited Lead Auditors course in order to further appreciation of
ISO 9001 and develop auditor skills.
• Completed numerous Health & Safety courses in order to increase competency in role and hold
full and creditable knowledgeable for the purposes of Auditing.
• Applied for and gained membership of Chartered Quality Institute and regularly attend branch
meetings including those expanding on the 2015 standard.
• Completed RAF Continuous Improvement (CI) Foundation and Techniques courses and
furthered personal development in subject by passing LEAN 6 Sigma Yellow Belt qualification.

2. Telecommunication, IT and Cryptographic Manager 2008 – 2010
• Led and managed teams of 10-16 personnel of vary ages and experience providing deployable
field communication, IT and Airfield Nav Aids.
• Predominately operated and maintained Satellite Reach Back communications systems, field IT,
to the desk telephony and inter-site communications links. The varied experience of the section
often raised challenges, which were always met, in ensuring the correct level of competency and
technical knowledge was available while motivating and educating the more junior team
members.
• Deployed on exercises across UK and to Oman in support of Aircraft Squadrons and deployed
twice to Afghanistan as a Detachment Team Leader and as the Cryptographic Account Manager
for the UK Air Contingent at Kandahar Air Base supporting Fast Jet, Air Transport, Helicopter,
UAV and Ground Force elements.
Field Radio Technical Support Team Leader 2006 - 2008
• A Team Leader for Bowman Combat Net Radio System during its role out and acceptance phase
into the British military providing SME support to all Units stationed in Germany.
• Due to the requirement to be a technical lead on all aspects of the newest digital communication
system in service a very high level of training courses, exercise shadowing and OJT was required
and achieved in relatively short period of time.
• Deployed twice as Team Leader to Basrah, Iraq on operations directly supporting the in Theatre
operational command element.
Technical Maintenance Department Manager 2003 - 2006
• In charge of the Technical Maintenance department undertaking daily management of 40 varied
tradesmen including Communication Technicians, Information Systems Engineers, Vehicle
Maintenance Fitters and Vehicle Recovery Mechanics.
• Supervised maintenance and repair of Field Radio System across command organisation.
• Responsible organising and conducting 1st
and 2nd
Line Technical Inspections of mobile
communications installations.
• Attended Warrant Officer Command, Leadership & Management course.
• Deployed on exercises across Europe including providing communications for the coordination of
the UK contingent for the 60th
Anniversary of D-Day.
Fixed Communication Systems Manager 2001 - 2003
• Posted on promotion as Senior Technician and Deputy Manager of a standalone department of
30 mixed trade personnel supporting fixed and strategic communications systems across Eastern
area of British Forces in Germany.
• Qualified in Defence Instructional Techniques as an Instructor delivering tuition to numerous
organisations across a wide range of topics including operational pre-deployment training within a
narrow window of availability.
• Maintained Rear Link communications systems in support of Gulf War 2 and subsequent Op
TELIC deployments.
Early Military Career History 1985 - 2001
From basic training undertook a number of roles in UK, Europe and Belize maintaining, repairing and
undertaking technical inspection on differing communications systems. All required promotion and
technician upgrading courses were carried out within career timelines enabling advancement to middle
management as described above.
