LETTER FROM THE PRESIDENT
Thank you for taking a few minutes to keep up to date on
the Lincoln Community Foundation. It’s difficult to believe we
have been meeting needs for ten years already.
Last year we led an effort that saw eight local non-profits work together on
one day to raise over $30,000 on “The Big Day of Giving”. We’ll be doing this
again in May.
We’ve partnered with grass roots organizations such as the Downtown Lincoln Association
while they went through the process of organizing a formal structure and obtaining their own
tax exempt status.
We support area programs such as Mud Run 4 Life, Lincoln 4th of July Celebration, Friends of McBean
Park Stadium, and Lincoln Family Support Network with accounting services, donation processing, and
general advice on mission oriented planning and execution.
Our purpose of promoting philanthropy and stewardship is actively considered in all we do. From our initial
$200,000 funding by Lincoln City Council, investment returns, and a variety of fundraising events we’ve granted
$281,000 to support 175 projects benefiting our citizens and we’ve grown our invested funds to nearly
$500,000.
In just the last two years we received requests for 42 projects and groups seeking $99,000. We are pleased we were able
to support 30 of those with a total of $36,000. The need you see is greater than the resources available.
Because we are focused on stewardship as well as philanthropy, donated funds go to our investment account. It is the returns
on those invested funds that serve as our grant funding. This means a gift of $10,000 can meet the needs for a few projects
once, or provide $500 each year for a lifetime and beyond.
Thank you for taking a few minutes to learn a bit about the Lincoln Community Foundation. Please consider us in your annual
charitable support and planned giving. To learn more, please contact us directly.
Mike Hobson
President
The Lincoln Community Foundation has developed a Program Initiative aligned with our
mission and vision of cultivating philanthropy and stewardship as community leaders.
One of the ways we are fulfilling this vision is by coordinating resources and investing in
our community. We do this by facilitating the activities of groups who are not officially
structured or have not yet obtained non-profit status, but are providing enriching commu-
nity activity. We’re happy and proud to sponsor these groups which we call, “Programs.”
LCF PROGRAMS - WE FACILITATE YOUR EFFORTS
Friends of McBean Park Stadium
The mission of Friends of McBean Park Stadium is to Restore, Revitalize,
and Rebuild McBean Park Stadium. Their vision is to provide a friendly,
safe, healthy and affordable entertainment venue, in partnership with the
City of Lincoln. McBean Park Stadium will become a premier destination
in Placer County for collegiate wood bat baseball; a summer wood bat
local team, “THE POTTERS”; Concerts; Performances; Lincoln Senior
League; Lincoln Little League Baseball; and more.
Mud-Run-4-Life
“MudRun4Life is a Mud Run for suicide prevention. Three families have bonded
together after losing their young sons to suicide and are choosing to speak in our
community for prevention. All funds are donated back to our community for
prevention programs!”
~ Kelly Waterlyn

The Mark Fowler Community Service Scholarship Fund
A retired, award winning Lincoln High School teacher, Fowler was instrumental in
creating the school’s highly successful Farm Program. He served as football coach and
helped instill in his students an appreciation and understanding of nature during his
many years at Lincoln High. Fowler is also affiliated with the following community
organizations: The Placer County Fish and Game Commission; the Western Placer
Education Foundation; the Placer County Conservation Plan; the Lincoln High School
Farm Foundation; and the Rural Lincoln Municipal Advisory Committee.
A scholarship is awarded to a Lincoln High School student annually in
Mark Fowler’s honor.
LCF FINANCIAL STATEMENT
FY 2014/2015
*This is a partial and unaudited financial picture for Lin-
coln Community Foundation. Additional information re-
garding the financial condition of LCF is available upon
request to Board Treasurer Susan Cope.
A CLOSER LOOK
 The Lincoln Community Foundation continuously
seeks and receives gifts, and then those gifts are
invested. Interest earned from this investment fund
is used to award grants to local nonprofit groups
whose projects enrich our community.
 Since 2005, the LCF has granted $281,000 for 175
projects that benefitted our youth and community.
We are meeting the challenges of growth in our com-
munity by introducing new and progressive initiatives.
 The LCF’s driving goal is to build the endowment fund
to $1,000,000 or more and to manage that fund with
care to ensure its growth in perpetuity.
IN THE NEWS
 Check out our newly redesigned website!
www.LincolnCommunityFoundation.org
With this redesign we are able to take advantage of the most current
tools to make our efforts most effective. – June ‘15
 Introducing The Friends of McBean Park Stadium, the latest Program
sponsored by LCF. Through our Program Initiative, we act as a catalyst
for community improvement programs; we are a trustee for communi-
ty resources; and we invest in our community by facilitating the
activities of groups that are not officially structured or have not yet
obtained non-profit status. We call these groups “Programs.”
– September ‘15
 Since 2005, the LCF has granted $281,000 for 175 projects that
benefitted our youth and community. Many grant requests have been
denied due to a lack of available funding. In 2015 the LCF board of
directors reduced the maximum amount available for annual grants to
$3,000 for 2016, broadening the gap between requests and availability
of funds. – December ‘15

NEW INITIATIVES BRING NEW PLANS
Lincoln Community Foundation is meeting
the challenges of growth in our community by
introducing these initiatives:
Community Partnerships – In parallel
with population growth and rising needs, we
are working together with community leaders
and local residential developers to help shape
an enduring contribution, and to add vitality
to the Lincoln Community.
Fund Development – Identifying
additional funding options through planned
giving which meet our philanthropic mission
as a trustee for community resources.
HOW CAN A GRANT FROM THE LCF
SUPPORT YOUR PROJECT?
A prominent Lincoln Community Foundation initiative is that of
growing our ability to provide grant support to community non-
profit programs. Since 2005 the LCF has granted $281,000 for 175
projects that help to build a stronger more resilient community.
Once per year, throughout the month of September, the LCF
Board accepts annual grant applications. The Board carefully
reviews each application. Grant recipients are announced by the
end of the year.
The Board also accepts mini-grant applications throughout the
year. The Board meets once per month and reviews any mini-grant
applications which have been submitted.
To download an annual grant application packet, please visit our
website www.LincolnCommunityFoundation.org in September
when a link to the application will be available. The application
for mini-grants is available throughout the year by visiting the
same link.
