1. SAINT PATRICK´S DAY
It´s an Irish Sain´t Day and is celebrated
in Ireland and the USA. On 17th March,
there are parades and the people dress in green, the colour of
Ireland. Some people dress up as Leprechauns, a type of
mischievous fairy. Leprechauns spend their time making shoes
and store their money in a potof gold at the end of a rainbow.
Saint Patrick was an English priest who converted Ireland to
Christianity during the fifth century . His symbols is the
shamrock, wich is now also one of the symbols of Ireland. Saint
Patrick used the three leaves of the
plant to illustrate the holyTrinity: Father,
Son and Holy spirit. One legend about
the saint says that he drove all the
snakes aut of Ireland. And this really is a
legend, as there is no evidence that
there have been any snakes in Ireland!
