21It is debated that feminism is a theme of this movie - a movie which one may almost
intuitively associate with ‘toxic masculinity’.
Here are excerpts from reviews supporting this point of view - “Throughout the film, the
female lead demonstrates the physicality of a hero committed to a rescue mission. In the
end, the movie...sets up the start of a matriarchal society as an antidote to the
barbarian, warlike tribes that came before".
“She (the female lead) is a sharpshooting powerhouse and a character exactly equal to
the male lead (also the titular character). In fact he is actually a secondary figure” and
the movie is “about a feminist revolt” against the barbarian ruler.
