Outreach Concepts
The following five outreach concepts should be focused on while working to create our impact goals.
Each of these concepts arealigned with our LGBT Alliance Strategic Plan.
1. BUILD AND SUSTAIN cross-Bay AREA collaborative COMMUNITY PARTNERSHIPS ALIGNED WITH INCLUSION
AND WELCOMING AFFIRMED BY JEWISH COMMUNITY ORGANIZATIONS. Prioritize communicating about
opportunities for greater access to Spiritual Care for the LGBT Jewish community. Empower out
LGBT professionals working and volunteering within the Jewish community to have the online
resources and tools necessary to be self-sufficient change-makers
2. DEVELOP LEADERSHIP ALIGNED WITH INCREASING ACCESS AND VISIBILITY. Provide a leadership avenue for
Bay Area LGBT Jews to shine in the eyes of the community. Promote Leadership programs and
subsidized scholarship programs.
3. FOSTER ENGAGEMENT WITH ISRAEL ALIGNED WITH ENCOURAGING LGBT JEWS TO CONNECT AND ENGAGE WITH
ISRAEL. Advocate for diverse experiences, thoughts and voices on Israel coming from leaders
within the LGBT Alliance within the organized Jewish community. Advocate for Israel related
cultural presentations & programs at existing local LGBT cultural events by promoting them to
the community.
4. ENHANCE ONLINE CONTENT AND ACCESS TO RESOURCES ALIGNED WITH INCREASING INFORMATION AND
CONNECTION. Keep the community informed and engaged via knowledge on and about relevant
current holidays, events and issues. Develop further online opportunities and tools to increase
site visits (and subsequent stays) to the Federation page
5. CULTIVATE GIVING ALIGNED WITH INCREASING OPPORTUNITIES FOR PHILANTHROPIC GIVING PROMOTE A
specific Case for Giving for the LGBT Alliance for folks to make a gift to the annual campaign and
Donor Advised Funds
External Factors
No other Jewish group has a booth at Pride – Many folks want to march in the Pride Parade but we are
not going to organize the community to march – we are the only LGBT group at Israel in the Gardens
Concepts to think about collectively
How to include community in knowing that they can submit materials to distribute, find a fun theme and
plan games or activities to get folks engaged with the booth. A few folks want us to focus on Spiritual
Care surrounding HIV/AIDS and other serious illness and also mention the innovations that Israel is
taking with its steps in HIV/AIDS research http://israel21c.org/201009058318/health/new-israeli-
2. treatment-kills-hiv-cells. Other folks want us to promote the creation of a community response plan for
unforeseen yet relevant incidents that warrant emergency preparedness, activism and community
response like Emergency Response program of San Francisco Community Agencies Responding to
Disaster.
Phone Calls & Key Connections to be made
Conversations with key community stakeholders from CSZ to KolTzedekabout who will be marching in
