3. “Hallyu” or Korean Wave is the ongoing global
phenomenon of the popularity and influence of
Korean entertainment, fashion, and culture. If
Hollywood sets the center stage for the Western
audience, then Korea is where Asia set their eyes.
However, where and how people get updates on
these trends is the question. Media in the West
has very limited exposure on this topic due the
language barriers. What better way to introduce
Korean Entertainment other than a native Korean
herself? Hallyu World produced by NTD is the first
Chinese language talk show providing insights on the Hallyu Phenomenon directly
from a Korean fashion editor’s point of view. With the help of English subtitles, Hallyu
World provides Chinese and American audiences everything they want to know about
Korea-from the latest news on celebrities to fashion style and beauty secrets of K-pop
singers and movie stars.

Host
Hye-soo was born and raised in Korea, being
exposed to art and music in her early childhood.
She often traveled to Europe and Asia since 11,
and was thus naturally inspired by European
culture. She moved to China to study before she
decided to move to New York where she worked
for Hallyu World and NTD’s fashion program,
StarLuxe, as a managing editor and producer.
With more than 6 years experience editing
and reporting in the entertainment industry
in New York City, she is currently hosting 韓流
風 (K-Talk) which is her own online talk show
focusing on celebrity interviews and fashion/
film events as well as 韓流世界, Hallyu World.
혜수는 한국에서 태어나고 자랐다. 어릴
적부터 미술과 음악에 재능을 보인 그녀는
11살때부터 유럽과 아시아를 여행했고,
16살 때 중국에 가서 유학을 하다
뉴욕으로 이주했다. 뉴욕 NTDTelevision
의 연예프로그램 Estar와 패션프로그램
StarLuxe에서 매니징에디터 겸 프로듀서로
일했다. 6년 넘게 뉴욕에서 엔터테인먼트 및
패션분야 TV프로덕션에서 일한 경험을 가진
그녀는 현재 인기 엔터테인먼트 프로그램
韓流世界의 진행자로 활약하고 있다.
왜 세계는 한류에 열광하는가? 한국인이
말하는 최신한류와 한국문화만큼 더 정확한
것이 있을까? 한국어는 물론이고 중국어,
영어로 진행하는 한류세계 프로그램은

Reporter
Australian born Chinese and graduate from the
Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City,
Eric joined NTD and the E*Star Entertainment
in 2008 and became lead graphics and video
editor for the program. With experience in
TV production and modeling/acting, he is
confident in front and behind the camera.
Eric’s focus is on Korean men’s fashion and
Korean music (K-pop). He speaks Cantonese,
Mandarin and English.
에릭은 중국계 호주인이다. 뉴욕 FIT를
졸업한 그는 2008년, 미국 NTD 방송사에
입사하면서 E*star프로덕션의 연예프로그램
비디오 에디팅과 그래픽을 담당해왔다.
현재는 TV프로덕션의 출연 경험을 바탕으로
韓流世界 의 남자 패션과 뷰티 및 K-pop관한
소개를 맡고 있다. 주로 영어로 진행하지만
광동화 역시 그의 모국어이다.
