Value Statement • Tiger Hip Hop is a new movement of dance combining ancient and modern tradition that provides diverse expression for young people and connects them to their heritage. • Zi Ru Productions reflects one theme: an integrated global world will exist as a result of ongoing cross-strait and inter- disciplinary collaboration.

Tiger Hip Hop TM Philein Wang is a Chinese-American dancer, musician, and poet whose exploration of her heritage and artistic identity has led her to create a dance form for the Chinese body and identity: Tiger Hip Hop™. Using this highly stylized hybrid of Shaolin Style Tiger Claw, ballet, Tai Chi, b ll t T i Chi yoga, modern d d dance, and hi d hip hop, Philein strives to create a cross-cultural bridge to unite generations of immigrants through a hybridization of dance elements from Asia, Europe, Africa, and America.   5. 5. Sponsor Goals Shrinking funding for the arts has dramatically impacted artists at the local and international levels. Sponsorships will S hi ill help bring US dance companies to tour in China for the first time. Sponsorship is a critical investment in relationship building. Helping us create US-China Dance Arts exchange will build long term work and performance opportunities for US Artists who struggle to maintain a presence in a global arts world. Artist exchanges help forge critical international relationships that have auxiliary benefits for tourism and business business.

  9. 9. Winifred Harris Winifred R. Harris is a multi-faceted artist, teacher and community activist. As a choreographer, she consciously balances the inherently beautiful escapism of dance and the social realities that form today’s aesthetic and cultural values. Ms. Harris has contributed her talents to the likes of the Dallas Black Dance Theater, Colorado State Ballet, Cal State Los Angeles, Northridge and Long Beach, and Spellman College in Atlanta, Georgia among others. Through her company, Winifred Harris’ Between Lines, Ms. Harris is active in her environment, teaching at community organizations and childrens’ shelters. She has received numerous awards and commendations from the Mayor of LA d f h f for her contributions.
  10. 10. Aaron Woolfolk American Writer/Director, Aaron Woolfolk was born and raised in Oakland, California. He received degrees in both Ethnic Studies and Rhetoric from the University of California at Berkeley and later completed his M.F.A. in film at Columbia University. Aaron’s extensive writing work in Japan has earned him numerous awards for his films ‘Rage!’, ‘Eki’, and ‘Kuroi Hitsuji’. His latest film ‘Harimaya Bridge’ starring Danny Glover and B ‘H i B id ’ t i D Gl d Ben Guillory is being released in theaters internationally in summer 2009. Darrien Henning Darrien is an American professional hip-hop choreographer who has toured the world. He is a h h h h t d th ld H i graduate of Northridge CSUN and NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. His choreography credits include Britney Spears, Universal, LaFace, Capital, Columbia. Darrien specializes in developing an artist s style stage artist’s style, and video performance.
  11. 11. Guest Artist: Miko Miko Doi-Smith is an exciting new addition to Zi Ru Tiger Productions. She appears in the work of all 3 pp choreographers. She is an American Modern dancer who has performed and worked with Philadanco, Philadanco Ralph Lemon and Bill T T. Jones.
