Etransfr Pitch Deck: Chadder 2014
1.
2. An Overview of the problem
Challenge One:
Private communication is virtually impossible to attain or use. The solutions on the market
are hard to use, making user adoption numbers very low.
Challenge Two:
Companies have to adapt to a new wave of workers, they are constantly connected and
used to instant responses. The current team management systems like Slack are not DRM
compliant.
5. The Industry
“Having privacy is not like
picking up the newspaper
and realizing ice cream has
too many calories and you
can start eating frozen
yogurt. You need information
that people can act on.”
-Marc Rotenberg
"I use Chadder everyday with
the trust that all of my
information and
communication is, in fact,
truly private."
- John McAfee
" As the mobile communication
races to dominance, market
modernizes, privacy will be an
required part of future
solutions. Consumers,
Enterprises and Governments
are reminded daily when
reading the headlines. All of
them can communicate safely
with Chadder. Without privacy,
there is no freedom!”
-Bradley Rotter

Editor's Notes
Hello, I am Lexi Sprague the cofounder of Etransfr the company responsible for the solution: Chadder. We are a team of college students on a mission to support privacy that is easy to use and built in.
We can’t Have privacy-- or so we have all been told. It is true, the world has never been given real privacy in a way that is easy to access. Now, there is a difference between Security and Privacy. Let me use an analogy: When you walk through the security check point you are secure. The odds of you getting stabbed after you go through the check point are very low. Are you private? No, You have been x-rayed your bags have been gone through and on a rare occasion unpacked even in-front of everyone. This is the state of the industry. Everyone is under the assumption that they should keep everyone else out and by doing that they will keep their users safe. They think that there is no other way to keep them safe.
The application has an easy interface for users to interact with across the three major platforms. Chadder is built to be less than three taps away from any user anytime. When we receive funding we will expand to desktop and other mobile platforms to support more users. The tools we use for development allow a small amount of developers build multiple platforms by having a central C# background.
We have 2,600 active users on the most recent versions of Chadder. To use an example there is a lawyer who has been in touch with us, who will not use any other application to communicate with people online. If his kids need a ride, Chadder, if his coworkers need him at a meeting, Chadder. This is one of the few examples of early adaptors in love with our application and we can only get better at serving a broader audience as we move forward.
This is our main competition broken down into the three rules we have just laid down.
Confide is marketed as a business application. They use encryption but their fun factor is the selling point. By blocking out the words forcing the user to swipe their finger along the words to see them one at a time they solve the issue of screen shots. This feature has mixed response.
Telegram is fun including many features that are seen in existing social applications. Their “secret chat” feature allows two people to have a conversation without Telegram seeing. This feature is quietly marketed but still in existence.
Hemlis is currently in a closed alpha testing phase. The application uses encryption and is easy to use. As of now we do not know much about Hemlis’s features.
Threema is our closest competitor. They have 1.2 million users and have taken over much of Germany. Our biggest advantage is that we support multiple devices on one account. This way our users can pair their tablet, phone and soon their computer to their Chadder account and have their conversations on all of their devices. The other advantage over Threema is that Chadder’s user interface is easier to interact with putting the user in more control over their information.
You all know about Snap Chat. They have prevent the market. They have no security but their application gives the illusion of control. Which made them wildly successful. Chadder hopes to duplicate the success of Snap Chat by offering fun features with real privacy. Seeing that they where just slammed with 20 years probation for violating their privacy agreement.
Wickr is our final major competitor. Their encryption is not as sophisticated as ours but they are easy to use and have fun features. Their branding is hard to understand but they have been gaining a lot of ground in the past months.
One of the biggest challenges in the space is making a profit. Chadder cannot follow the typical voyeurism model that social media applications typically follow because we cannot see our users data. So, we have built a model built to drive in app sales. By investing in themselves they will spread new must have upgrades. Applications that people download that they invest their time and money into personalizing they keep on their phones longer. Some people will choose to add voice while others choose to add file sharing. This way the application is much more flexible and can appeal to more than one crowd. After we finish IOS we will focus on building out our feature set!

This is our team. Six students dedicated to building privacy the way we believe is right. Chadder is about us. We have all grown up in a world where privacy isn’t real and if it is we could not access it without giving up our fun features. We know how to do this correctly and we got tired of waiting for someone else to build it.
Our board of Advisors currently has two members. Both provide expertise and connections in security, marketing and investment. Bradley Rotter a private venture capitalist for 30 years is providing strategic feedback on both our investment and business plans. Marc Lewis is the Chief Technology Strategist at Merriman capital. He has been instrumental in planning and introducing us to capital. They both provide their experiences with mobile applications, revenue models, and application feedback.
Our partners are amazing individuals that help us gain traction and technology we need to succeed. John McAfee runs a mobile application development company called Future Tense Central that is helping add validity to our brand and adds a new level of marketing a promotion. Steven Sprague is the CEO of Rivetz Corporation that is providing us with the API’s for Trusted Execution a piece of technology yet to be used for the consumer space. We will have a demo of this technology at CES 2015.
